Such a great episode that centers on the ghost of a beautiful maiden who was turned to stone awaiting the arrival of the soldier she loved who went to war and never came back and to their surprise the ghost is actually a Ghastly and as the other try to battle it they are easily overpowered by Ghastly powers thankfully the sun rises and Ghastly vanishes vowing that the ghost of the maiden and the old woman will return next year, and one very memorable moment is during the festival when Misty asks Ash to dance with her.

Ash, Serena, Clemont and Bonnie attend a dance party for Pokémon performers and unfortunately Serena fails to ask Ash to be her date and instead becomes Miette's date while Serena goes with Clemont its actually a pretty interesting episode and has so funny moments like when Ash tries to dance with Miette and bumps heads with her and surprisingly Miette isn't angry at all and there the parts when Serena screams after Miette asks Ash to be her date and he says yes and then again when it looks like Serena will get her chance to dance with Ash only for the dance to end, another highlight is seeing Serena's Eevee evolve into Sylveon.

While making their way back to Vermillion City so Ash can challenge for his final Gym Badge when they stop by the Cerulean City Gym so Misty's Horsea can get some exorcise and find that Misty's sisters are planning to do a water ballet underwater and have chosen Misty to play the lead role which of course she refuses to go along with but is guilt tripped into doing it, and of course during the performance Team Rocket sabotages the show in order to steal the Pokémon and Ash and Brock alongside Misty

The episode where we find out a lot more about James who is actually from a rich family who ran away because he was tired of all the strict rules of rich life and because he didn't want to marry Jessiebelle who was determined to change him and Ash and others actually have to help him avoid being forced to marry her.

The second episode that features the return of Jessibelle as Ash, Brock and Dawn uncover a treasure chest that belongs to James, we get even more backstory on James as a kid he had a crush on Jessibelle and wrote her a love letter and put it in a chest which he had planned to give to her and surprise she agrees to marry him but wants him to get rid of his Growlith and get a Skitty instead which results in him not wanting to marry her anymore and buries the chest with the letter not wanting her to ever find, while at another of James family homes in Sinnoh James is discovered and Jessibelle shows up and tries to force him to marry her.

Misty makes her first of many returns as she reunites with Ash and Brock and meets May and Max for the first time and find themselves mixed up Team Rocket who are working for Colonel Hansen who wants to steal Misty's Togepi so he can become King of the Mirage Kingdom.
