Paul was a boss. He had all of the tank Pokemon of the Sinnoh Region and during the Sinnoh League, despite losing, he knew exactly what Ash would do. The only think he wasn't aware of was the temper tantrum that Infernape had. Paul may have been far less affectionate to his Pokemon, but he was a damn good trainer.
