Top Ten Predatory Dinosaurs

The Top Ten

1 Tyrannosaurus Tyrannosaurus Tyrannosaurus, meaning "tyrant lizard", from the Ancient Greek tyrannos, "tyrant", and sauros, "lizard" is a genus of coelurosaurian theropod dinosaur.

For people saying that this dinosaur was a scavenger, I agree. It was both a scavenger and a hunter. And being a scavenging dinosaur doesn't make it any less cool. Just think about it, we humans are scavengers and hunters. Some of us "hunt" prey, sell it to another person. Then that person eats it. Besides, the dinosaurs whose jaws were perfectly designed for scavenging is none other than the spinosaurids themselves. They are quadrupeds so they aren't able to chase other dinosaurs. The only thing they are able to prey on is fish. Therefore, the spinosaurids will also scavenge, scaring away other scavengers with its size. Just think about it in the perspective of the Rex. You are alone and starving. You see a carcass ahead. An Ankylosaurus. Lying on its back. Dead. Two dead dinosaurs laid on the side of the carcass, fighting over the carcass. No dinosaurs are nearby, except a herd of Triceratops. The ankylosaurus has enough meat for a month. What do you do? Kill the Triceratops, or ...more

T rex beats other Dinos like spino and giga in many ways! The reason why it's king of the dinosaurs and always should be is that it was a ferocious hunter. There is great evidence of it being a hunter, due to a puncture mark in a hadrosaur bone. The only animal that could snap that bone in half was T. Rex, thanks to a bite force estimated to be 12,000 + pounds. The bone showed regrowth, meaning the hadrosaur survived the attack. There is even evidence of pack hunting, due to signs of healing on very serious injuries. The only was it could have survived that long was if another T. Rex brought it food. Also, being slightly smaller than spino and giga, and more muscular in the legs, it was definitely more agile and faster. An estimate of top speed is 29 mph! Compare that to a lumbering, quadrupedal spino with much weaker jaws, or a giganotosaurus with size working against it. It is also a very intelligent hunter, very capable in planning maneuvers and coordinated attacks. This makes T. ...more

The T-rex have always been awesome in my eyes. I still have my baby toy of a T-rex from way back when.

T.Rex also hunted Alamosaurus.

2 Allosaurus Allosaurus Allosaurus is a genus of large theropod dinosaur that lived 155 to 150 million years ago during the late Jurassic period.

Three awesome claws, two flat awesome horns, tens of awesome teeth, these are some of the things that makes Allosaurus my favorite dinosaurs.

Allosaurus was basically the wolf of the Jurassic period. It hunted in packs to take down bigger prey and more dangerous prey like Stegosaurus or Diplodicus.

T. Rex is overrated. At least Allosaurus could hunt and had use of it's arms... Allosaurus are the wolves of the Jurassic.

In my opinion Allosaurus was the king of the Mesezoic era

3 Giganotosaurus Giganotosaurus Giganotosaurus is a genus of theropod dinosaur that lived in what is now Argentina, during the early Cenomanian age of the Late Cretaceous period, approximately 99.6 to 97 million years ago.

It was much bigger than allosaurus had a stronger bite force (11700) and also hunted in packs. Oh and it hunted the biggest dinosaur ever.

This dinosaur can kill Spinosaur easy and T. Rex

4 Acrocanthosaurus Acrocanthosaurus Acrocanthosaurus is a genus of theropod dinosaur that existed in what is now North America during the Aptian and early Albian stages of the Early Cretaceous.
5 ‬Carnotaurus
6 Gorgosaurus
7 Utahraptor Utahraptor Utahraptor is a genus of theropod dinosaurs. It contains a single species, Utahraptor ostrommaysorum, which is the largest known member of the family Dromaeosauridae.
8 Spinosaurus Spinosaurus Spinosaurus is a genus of theropod dinosaur that lived in what now is North Africa, during the lower Albian to lower Cenomanian stages of the Cretaceous period, about 112 to 97 million years ago.
