The Patrick Mahomes Show (Episode 4: A Duel in Detroit)

This week... Kansas City travels north to play the Lions, a team that we don’t meet too often. Detroit was 2-0-1 entering the game but many Chiefs fans thought this would be a fairly easy victory. Little did we know the events that would occur making it quite the opposite.

It wasn’t a pretty game at all.
Detroit would jump out to an early 10-0 lead but Kansas City would tie them up at 13 each at halftime. The Third quarter in particular was ugly with 5 lost fumbles one of which Bashaud Breeland took 100 yards for a TD. TJ Hockenson also went down in the 3rd quarter as well. Both teams would trade a pair of touchdowns the rest of the game. In the end Detroit played KC down to the wire both literally and figuratively. Mahomes showed once again why he was an MVP quarterback by converting a 4th down on his game winning drive with under 2 minutes left.
Stafford would get the ball back and ALMOST led a game winning drive of his own but couldn’t get it into the end zone even with an extra attempt.

The Mahomes Show survives another day 4-0 so far this season. It wasn’t pretty by any means but they got it done and that’s what matters.

Detroit deserves credit for how they played in this one. I wasn’t expecting that to happen yet they were able to compete. They kept Patrick Mahomes in check all game long even doubling up on guys like Kelce. Mahomes didn’t throw a Touchdown pass at all that I can think of. Yet they found other ways to win. Specifically with their other players like that Throw to Travis Kelce who flipped it to Sammy Watkins for a much bigger gain. In the end unfortunately someone had to lose. But Detroit has earned my respect. They proved themselves.

Can we give the Jaguars win to Detroit instead?

Next week we get Indy in Prime Time who’s looking for revenge after last year’s loss to KC in the divisional round and a loss to Oakland at home. They will be bitter but we shall prepare. The show will go on
