Top 10 Most Pretentious YouTubers and Media/Music Artists that are Still Good Despite It

Innovative geniuses (sometimes), but nowhere near the extent to which they personally consider themselves.
The Top Ten
1 Radiohead Radiohead are an English rock band from Abingdon, Oxfordshire, formed in 1985. The band consists of Thom Yorke (lead vocals, guitar, piano, keyboards), Jonny Greenwood (lead guitar, keyboards, other instruments), Colin Greenwoood (bass guitar), Phil Selway (drums), and Ed O'Brien (guitar).

Ignoring the amount of praise they somehow still manage to get from critics, they really do need to stop trying so hard to "transcend" what traditional music is supposed to be; it's getting pretty old if you ask me

Also, the lyrics to OK Computer, enough said

2 Square Enix Square Enix Holdings Co., Ltd. is a Japanese video game developer, publisher, and distribution company that is best known for its role-playing video game franchises, which include the Final Fantasy, Dragon Quest, and Kingdom Hearts role-playing game series.

To say the LEAST, the plots of Final Fantasy are not what they are made out to be (no, not even of its BEST installments)

3 Stephen King Stephen Edwin King is an American author of contemporary horror, supernatural fiction, suspense, science fiction, and fantasy. Many of his most well-known novels include Carrie, It, The Shinning, The Stand, Misery, The Dark Tower series, and Rita Hayworth and the Shawshank Redemption, which was later adapted into the film The Shawshank Redemption which is widely regarded as one of the greatest films of all time.

"When you have to review every single one of his books' film adaptations in a row, Nostalgia Critic, YOU'LL BE BORED TOO"

4 Bethesda Bethesda Game Studios is an American in-house development team at Bethesda Softworks established in 2002. Previously synonymous with parent publisher Bethesda Softworks, the studio's name and logo were established with the release of The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind in 2002. The studio is currently led by executive producer Todd Howard.

Ironically, Modern Fallout and Elder Scrolls games are great as long as you completely ignore the storyline and don't hesitate to utilize gameplay-enhancing mods in exchange

5 Hideo Kojima

If you can't admit how incredibly sluggish, stupid and spastic the Metal Gear Solid writing has been ever since the franchise's very beginning, then I honestly don't know what to tell you (they ARE classic games though)

6 Muse Muse are an English alternative rock band from Teignmouth, Devon, formed in 1994. The members are Matt Bellamy (lead vocal, lead guitar, piano, keyboard), Dom Howard (drums, percussion) and Chris Wolstenholme (bass, backing vocals). They've won several awards including 5 MTV Awards, 8 NME Awards, 2 Brit Awards, and 2 Grammy Awards.

Another band that's been trying WAY too hard lately but is still decent in its own right; Radiohead, however, it does NOT even nearly live up to the true ambitious-ness of (and there are also a great many even MORE experimental artists out there as well, just for the record)

8 Toby Fox

Well, looking at his overall track record:
His first Earthbound hack was terrible but still quite funny
His Earthbound Halloween Hack was okay but was also COMPLETELY overrated and easily one of THE most infuriatingly unbalanced things I've ever played as far as game design is concerned; again, as long as you treat it as being merely a satire of the Creepypasta genre and not something actually legit, it's pretty good for the most part
The Homestuck soundtrack was great all around

Undertale is absolutely amazing during its Pacifist/Genocide runs (albeit still VERY heavily flawed and probably about 10% as smart and creative as it thought it was at most, when put into the grand scheme of things) and very much SHOULD speak for itself if you're the type of low-key Earthbound super-fan it was made for

9 Mike Judge Michael Craig "Mike" Judge is an American actor, voice actor, animator, writer, producer, director, and musician.

I greatly respect Beavis & Butthead and King Of The Hill for being extremely accurate satires, but it still really doesn't make them particularly funny overall, in all honesty

10 I Hate Everything

Alex is actually a smart dude, so I don't mind if he gets a little pretentious now and again.

His immensely stereotypical British-ness, combined with his hilarious (over)usage of Kevin MacLeod music, merely accentuates this

The Contenders

They had multiple top 5 hits such as "No, No, No", "Say My Name", "Bills, Bills, Bills", "Survivor", "Independent Women", "Bootylicious", and "Jumpin', Jumpin" from 1999 to 2004.
