This was without a shadow of a doubt MADE Starrcade the premier wrestling event. Flair knows that if he lost to Harley Race he would retire from Professional wrestling. In Flair's hometown of Charlotte, North Carolina Flair made history by pinning Race, who himself was an 8-time national wrestling association heavyweight champion, and earlier in '83 beat Flair on what was called the Pro Wrestling Illustrated Match of the Year.
