Top Ten Problems with TheTopTens' Community in 2019
Here we go again.This time last year I made a list about the problems facing this website in terms of community. The reaction was poor and ultimately a huge schism took place throughout the website. The remaining Gen-18ers now have a much more positive influence on the site than the past Gen-18ers did. The past Gen-18ers were still better than the current Gen-19ers. At least they were interesting.

I thought things were bad last year when Selfiefan and Sausagelover. But to be fair to those two, at least they had an interesting take on trolling. They were hateful towards users and had interesting personas. They were far more enjoyable trolls to sit through than the music trolls who have the site on strings now. Using unpopular opinions to troll got old and obvious years ago. This stuff was easily identifiable when JBL did it in the slums of 2015. How are people still falling for it in big 2019? Do you just enjoy getting rattled or is this your first 5 minutes on the internet? Send these trolls packing and let us bring some interesting ones in. I've seen people make rants about trolls for simply praising Nickelback. Is that really the most efficient use of your time? Wake up.
Hmm... I agree that this has been happening to TheTopTens community because troll-feeding does seem quite common in this world and it does really need to stop.
Seriously stop it! These trolls are just trying to get you to react. And they aren’t even good trolls like the ones in the past. Feeding trolls just adds fuel to the fire which is what they want. You keep feeding them and they are just going to keep going

I have never heard of Lil Meerkat in my life. Most of his traffic probably comes from TTT. Save your energy for something important, not obvious trolls.
Lil Meerkat has less than a 100 subs, and Submarine Man has just over 1,000 subs, so why do users such as ShrekTheGOAT overreact to them?

At least with Gen-18 there were a couple of loose cannons among the mishmash of samey, repetitive users. Never before on this site have I struggled so hard to tell everyone apart. I get that this site appeals a certain demographic, but I still expect some variety in both content and personality. This site is failing to provide me with either. Every user feels the same and every list or post revolves around one of four topics: video games, music, movies and T.V.. What happened to the days of fresh, distinct and vibrant personalities clashing to form a community with loads of branched and groups?
Too many gen 19 users mainly focus on personal lists.Now I have done that and I'm a gen 19 user but I've also made some quality lists too(Most of the community likes a lot of my lists) so it's sad not many other gen 19 users are like that.
Since pop culture is so easy to poke at, and most of the users here seem to love their popular media, it’s no wonder we see content about it so often. Please challenge yourself people.

Still? God you users need to get a grip. If you don't be so whiny and upset they won't rustle you. You are inflicting this upon yourselves.

There is a certain boy who shan't be named who is particularly responsible for this. Just note that the fact we're still seeing alphabet lists in 2019 is sad.

I know, a rustler talking about overconfidence, it's hilarious. But at least I've earned the right to be confident. I've been running this site since 2014, savouring W after W after W. Yet you still have some rookies trying to come for me all guns blazing. Stay in your lane and respect your elders, is my point.
Certain user who thinks she can take on both the admin and the rustlers by herself yet has very little backing.Not gonna give out names but you should know who.

Taking down admin is like taking down the US.
Making a mistake can a good thing, and not learning from it can be stupid. We get better when me prevent previous mistakes.

Yeah true.As MrCoolC said "your average gen 19 users just makes personal lists".Now as a gen 19 user I've made some personal lists but however I also did lot's of other content and those outnumber my personal lists and have gotten praise of most of the community.Unfortunately it's rare to see many other gen 19 users do this.
To all users here and to be here in the future: challenge yourselves. Don’t stay with the easy topics. Go beyond your typical lane, and make some lists about things you may not be entirely familiar with. We do not need a hundred lists about your favorite songs and video games. Believe it or not, the risk may pay off.
Ever since the self-moderated lists came into being, lists have been dissolved into "my top 10 (item) lists" which should just be remixes.
Oversaturation of T.V., music and Video Game related content, every user feeling the same, lack of leadership- it's no surprise the creativity here is so lacking nowadays.
Tying into my lack of variety point. How many active users in Gen-19 can I say I like and could see them present in the Golden Era of TTT? 3. Maybe 4 at a push. Those are even worse numbers than what Gen-18 got. Can we show a bit of ambition here? Look at all the great users we squeezed out of Gen-18 in the end: PeeledBanana, iliekpiez, ReltihFloda, Randomator, SpectralOwl, a reformed 445956- that's only scratching the surface.
Wouldn't mind not standing out, but if everyone's the samey, troll-feeding people that they currently are, there's nothing amazing about them. Gen-20 isn't gonna be unique, I'm calling it now.

Gen-19 is just uninteresting and dull.
I just ask people what things are and do it myself before I chose a side on it.

Mostly people bandwagon on Fornite hate and Nickelback hate.
Who truly leads the Gen-19 community? Are they are a good leader? Do they have an undeniable presence on the site? I haven't noticed anyone stepping up to steer the sinking ship. I like ht and all, but he's practically a robot. Someone worthy should step up and take the reigns.
This is not a problem, there is no need for hierarchy everywhere. I would prefer a set of mid-quality content users to a super innovative mastermind guy in a group of John Does
