Best Progressive Rock Songs Under Ten Minutes Long
"One of these days I'm gonna cut you up into little pieces." -Nick Mason, 1970
This song has several important elements of Progressive Music:
1) Complex composition - the structure of this song is progressive because it has different parts that aren't repeated and it doesn't even has a chorus (it's a multi-part song)
2) Superior vocals - flawless operatic vocals, multi-layered vocals
3) Progressive instrumentation - piano sets up a "progressive" rock sound
4) Obvious classical music influence
I love this song but it's more like an early metal song than prog rock song. I mean, there's nothing progressive in it.
One of my personal favorite songs by Genesis. Probably the best song on "Foxtrot" that isn't Supper's Ready.
How was this not on the list already
