Top 10 Proofs that There is Still Hope for Modern-Age Nickelodeon and Cartoon Network

The Top Ten
1 They actually care about making proper traditional cartoons again

At least we have Infinity Train in the future.

2 Hey Arnold and Rocko's Modern Life both getting their own brand-new film adaptations with nothing short of the EXACT same voice actors, art style and charm as the original shows

Seriously, the upcoming Static Cling movie for Rocko's Modern Life deserves SO much more hype than it's been getting on TheTopTens (as in basically none); just from seeing the barely even 160-second-long SNEAK PEEK trailer for it, I absolutely could not believe my eyes seeing how undeniably PERFECTLY the original look, feel and hilariously exaggerated social/political cynicism of the original show was captured

It is truly, TRULY a wonderful sight to behold

3 Steven Universe is probably the best pro-feminist show to appear on television in just about forever

"Like it or not! " - HT Outlaws 2012

(just kidding; he never actually said that about this show)

This sounds like a buzzfeed article.

Agreed, it's a show that has elements of feminism etc. yet isn't the sole point to the show, also turning attention to the cool plot and worldbuilding that's occurring.

DID Y'ALL SEE THE LATEST EPISODE OF IT? I'M STILL SHOOK AS HELL OUT AFTER A MONTH

4 Spongebob is returning to form, most notably with his downright amazing Sponge Out Of Water movie

That scene where Plankton went inside Spongebob's brain was an AWFULLY big turn-on for me, I must say (please don't ask)

5 Johnny Test is no longer relevant

Unfortunately, Cartoon Network's awful reboots still are...

In other news, neither are the 1990s Nickelodeon classics

6 Drake & Josh is one of the best live-action sitcoms on television, period

That's a classic-age live-action sitcome, dude. The rest of the modern live-action sitcoms on Nickelodeon SUCK.

Less dated than Full House for sure

7 Harvey Beaks is one of the best autism-awareness shows in a VERY long time

And believe me, that is EXACTLY what Deviantart needs (NOT)

8 The Amazing World Of Gumball bringing back the classic "photographic backgrounds" art style from Courage The Cowardly Dog and completely nailing it through the roof

I only wish that the show had actually taken the time to make its CHARACTERS also look the way that they did in Courage TCD, but I guess maybe I really shouldn't be setting my expectations so ridiculously high after all (just kidding, I totally should be)

9 Adventure Time and Regular Show are both shockingly well-written and relatable

AT more so, but the point still firmly stands for both of them

10 Cyma Zarghami stepped down as president of Nickelodeon

And then the next thing you know Christina Miller no longer become CEO of Cartoon Network and the channel becomes better as well.

The Contenders
11 Chowder and Flapjack bringing Ren & Stimpy's hilariously exaggerated art style back in full force AND in a way that's actually somewhat funny

And in Chowder's case, looks utterly amazing, let's not forget that

12 They use more toilet humor
13 Nick just switched CEOs

Thank God Cyma Zarghami is no longer president of Nickelodeon.

14 The characters are getting sexier

*Aesthetically pleasing

15 Are You Afraid of the Dark' movie in the works
16 Warner Bros. & Cartoon Network collaboration
17 Infinity Train is coming to CN
