2019 NBA Mock Draft

2storm The Draft is finally here and I am pumped. I won't keep you guys waiting let's jump into the draft. Note this is who I would draft not who I think the team will draft.

New Orleans Pelicans | 1st Pick | Zion Williamson | PF | Duke | 6'7 | 285
This is the most hyped player since Blake Griffin. Zion is going to be a superstar. The Pelicans should happy they got him. He will support with this very strong young core. Zion is also very mature for his age and he is truly humble. You can create some powerful high-low combination with Ball/Ingram and Zion. His only concerns are his handle, his shot, and his health. I think people are kinda overreacting about his health. He literally had one injury last year and it wasn't even that big. I think his shot was improving in college, but the NBA is a totally different thing. If he can get a shot though we could see a lot of Mid-Post play. His handle is really basic, but to be honest he doesn't really need a great handle, he just needs to be able to have diversity and be able to make a defense shift. He may have to work on his defense, but otherwise he is great.
Comparison - Charles Barkley

Memphis Grizzlies | 2nd Pick | Ja Morant | PG | Murray State | 6'3 | 175
Ja is the most talented player in this draft. You may be shocked by me saying this, but I truly think Ja is the most talented. Zion is very talented and I would say he is a physically dominating player and he has more potential, but Ja has more skill. He has a nice cross and is a great passer and he goes after it like Zion. Ja is great physically as well. He is very quick as well. Ja will be the franchise player in Memphis and he will change this franchise from a slow, old team to a quick athletic team. He reads screens like a pro and he knows how when to attack or when to let the play develop. Ja does have to improve his shooting and his defense. He does have nice looking form, but it just doesn't go in all the time. He shot 36% from 3 in his 2nd season at Murray State. And remember that is college range. His defense is ok it could be a lot better though based on his frame, vertical, and speed.
Comparison - Allen Iverson

New York Knicks | 3rd Pick | R.J. Barrett | SF | Duke | 6'7 | 202
I don't know why Knicks fans are complaining they are going to get a number 1 Pick like player in R.J. Barrett. Knowing the Knicks though they are gonna screw up this pick. R.J. will be a franchise player if they surround him with the right young players. R.J. has a silky game and he has the ability to score and pass. He can play the SF and the SG and he can defend 3 and maybe even 4 positions. He needs to work on his shot a little bit and he definitely needs to work on his decision making. Sometimes he just takes the stupidest shots and he drives when he simply shouldn't drive. Otherwise the Knicks are getting a number 1 pick with the 3rd pick.
Comparison - T-Mac

Los Angeles Lakers | 4th Pick | De'Andre Hunter | SF | Virginia | 6'7 | 225
Hunter is the best defender in this draft. The Pelicans will be getting this pick, but I don't know if this pick is the best pick. They don't really need him, because they have Ball at PG, Hart at SG, Ingram at SF, Zion at PF, and whoever they get at C. Regardless, he is the best defender in this draft. Hunter is a good offensive player as well. His shot is good and he got slash and finish. He doesn't have a creative offensive game. His game is mostly catch and shoot and straight line drives. His defensive game is really the bright spot. He goes after it and he can be a great lockdown defender.
Comparison - Trevor Ariza

Cleveland Cavaliers | 5th Pick | Jarrett Culver | SG | Texas Tech | 6'7 | 195
Getting a shot making running mate for Collin Sexton would be amazing. Culver can run the 2 and 3. He can create a shot in isolations and pick and rolls. He has an excellent mid range game. He has gotten a lot better at reading screens. He does need to get better at stroking the 3. I think he has potential defensively, but he has yet to make it elite level. I also think he can get his handle just a little bit better. I like Culver and if he can develop a jumper from 3 he will be a great backcourt partner with Sexton.
Comparison - Caris LeVert

Phoenix Suns | 6th Pick | Darius Garland | PG | Vanderbilt | 6'3 | 175
The Suns need a point and if it wasn't for Garland's torn Meniscus he might have been the best PG in this draft. He is a great shooter off the dribble. He has a nice dribble drive game and can finish with either hand. He has to fill out his frame more and he get enough muscle to face NBA Points. Adding muscle will also help with his durability. I really like Garland and I think some teams might take a risk and trade up to number 4 and get him. Garland and Booker in the backcourt is weak defensively, so the Suns might go with something different here.
Comparison - Damian Lillard

Chicago Bulls | 7th Pick | Coby White | PG | UNC | 6'5 | 185
The Bulls need a PG that can lead an offense and Coby White can do that. He can also score and he can maybe play the 2 and that gives the Bulls a lot of flexibility. He has a nice frame that tells us he can be a nice defender. He is also pretty fast. White doesn't really have that high of potential. He is really just a really good combo guard and hopefully he can be known as a point that can do anything you ask him to. He maybe has a chance to be an elite scorer.
Comparison - Derek Fisher

Atlanta Hawks | 8th Pick | Cameron Reddish | SF | Duke | 6'8 | 208
Cam would be a good fit with the Hawks. Cam had a down year at Duke, because he was playing with Zion and R.J. Cam is still an all-around offensive beast. He is athletic, he can shoot, he can score from anywhere, and he can play defense. He needs to improve his playmaking and his out of rhythm threes. While Apparently something has come up recently about him not eating right and that could a concern about both his weight and his overall commitment.
Comparison - Rudy Gay

Washington Wizards | 9th Pick | Nassir Little | SF | UNC | 6'7 | 220
Nassir Little is going to be a beast. Little has an NBA Ready Body. He is a physical specimen. He has an improving offensive game. He is obviously a great defensive game. The Wizards need good wings or maybe they can move this pick for a good player Next to Bradley Beal and an injured John Wall. He needs to keep improving his dribble drive game and his pull-up game. Plus I think he can improve a little bit more defensively.
Comparison - Jaylen Brown

Atlanta Hawks | 10th Pick | Sekou Doumbouya | PF | France | 6'9 | 231
Doumbouya is a very good all-around player. He is very athletic and he is progressing on his jump shot. He can guard 4 positions. He can also pass. He needs to work on his handle and he maybe should lose a few pounds. Like I said, he needs to work on his jumper he has great mechanics, but he just needs to continue to work on it. I think Doumbouya can be a steal.
Comparison - Pascal Siakam

Minnesota Timberwolves | 11th Pick | Brandon Clarke | PF | Gonzaga | 6'8 | 215
Clarke is a great all-around player. He has a great jump shot and he plays great defense. He should easily be able to switch. He is also able to run the break. His only weakness is his size. I think the Timberwolves could easily put him in their lineup though. He could improve his passing and his ball handling as well.
Comparison - Shawn Marion

Charlotte Hornets | 12th Pick | Bol Bol | C | Oregon | 7'2 | 208
This might be a surprise, but I got the Hornets taking Bol Bol. Bol Bol was insane in his short time in college. He can hit threes, he can defend the paint, he can pass, he can post, he can dribble, and he can at times step out and defend the perimeter. He of course needs to gain weight. That should help with his durability. He could also improve his perimeter defense and his ball handling. The Hornets should just get a new center and just take a flyer on Bol Bol.
Comparison - Manute Bol

Miami Heat | 13th Pick | P.J. Washington | PF | Kentucky | 6'8 | 228
This is such a Miami Heat like pick. P.J. is the ultimate hard worker and he will try his best Heat and he will contribute to winning which Pat Riley loves. He is an excellent defender and he shot the three a lot better last year. This is a really safe pick, so don't expect to be improving a lot. He will probably just be that solid role player from the beginning of his career to the end.
Comparison - Shane Battier

Boston Celtics | 14th Pick | Goga Bitadze | C | Serbian League | 6'11 | 251
Bitadze is a good athlete and he is a good shooter. He needs to improve his rebounding and his handle. The Celtics are going to lose a few players this Off-Season, so the Celtics should start stockpiling weapons again.

And that concludes my mock draft. I only did the lottery because this took me forever to make. Tell me what you think.
