Serial Experiments Lain is probably one of the most confusing animes I've watched in my entire life. It is thirteen episodes of a puzzle you need to solve or you'll be very confused for weeks. Even when you finish it, you'll need to re-watch it to truly understand the resolution and meaning of it. I highly recommend it for people who love very sophisticated and mature animes. It contains violence, suicidal thoughts, drug usage, mild alcohol, and very mature scenes. - NerdyPweeps
