Serial Experiments Lain is probably one of the most confusing animes I've watched in my entire life. It is thirteen episodes of a puzzle you need to solve or you'll be very confused for weeks. Even when you finish it, you'll need to re-watch it to truly understand the resolution and meaning of it. I highly recommend it for people who love very sophisticated and mature animes. It contains violence, suicidal thoughts, drug usage, mild alcohol, and very mature scenes.

Forget Death Note, Monster is the real deal.
The most complex anime I've seen. Exploring the origins of evil, shocking plot twists, and the greatest anime villain of all time.

I'm so glad this anime was at the top of the list, if you love death note and code geass, monster is defn for you, I highly recommend it

Great anime! It messes with your head until you think its gonna explode with questions, but then season two came and it all makes sense (well, not all of it..) when you watch this you will cry, you will laugh, and you might even go crazy! I recommend 100%

7 Claymore Claymore is a dark fantasy manga series written and illustrated by Norihiro Yagi. The series initially premiered in the now defunct Monthly Shōnen Jump in the May 2001 issue, but was moved to one of their sister magazines as the content was deemed too adult for Shōnen Jump’s target demographic.

This a horribly made anime

My favourite anime! All the characters have a deep personality and character devolopment. (Especially in the games and 3. seasons)

The psychological aspects are what really made this anime the masterpiece it is today.
