Top 10 Best Psychological Manga
Absolutely the best! best! best!... This manga promise you to be entertain and I love the message they want to portray in this manga. Totally one of the most underrated manga, it didn't even got an anime. I'm happy this website Liar Game ranks number 1 at least some intellextual people understand its value : )
I like its ending a lot it shows that how the world isn't some garden of rosses even if they worked together to get out of the game.. the video was removed something that would actually happen and not an asspull happy ending
As a fan of psychological genre, Liar game is the absolute best of them all (though the only flaw is its ending). Following by One outs and Death note.
This really changes my life reading it. Although it does focus on Yokoya throughout the manga after the contraband game instead of Harimoto, it deserves a read. Before those in power take it down.
Death Note is perfect from the start till the end. The twists and turns will keep you wanting for more and all the main characters will leave you baffled and in wonder. But the best part is how the author subtly brings out the theme of evil and good throughout the entire series - What may be evil to ones eye, may be good to the other and vice versa. This one is definitely for the ones who like books that will keep you guessing and leave you breathless in the end.
DEATH NOTE is a MASTERPIECE! Every single second that you read it incites your mind to think like they would making you think more about your own position in the world and making you understand where human corruption comes from.
That plot, the anime's epic music, the characters... WOW. I think that this is an amazing manga, due to the fact that there isn't completely good or complete bad characters... You can side with either Yagami or L...
This is perfection in its finest. The suspense is absolutely real and the strategic thinking of the characters keeps you guessing about what will happen next. For the thinkers.
The story about Tokuchi Toua the gambler to outsmart others including players, coaches and team owners in a very fascinating way. This will give you whole new perspective about the game as a person like me who didn't like baseball to begin with became completely addicted to it.
Tokuchi is a master manipulator and an exceptional reader of human behaviour and minds. How he takes these traits and creates an unbeatable strategist are worth the watch! Brilliant -9.5/10 (Those who understand baseball/sports), 8.5-9/10 (for people not into sports)
I didn't read this at first because I thought it's a sport genre but I was so wrong big time. This work is one of the absolute best of the psychological genre along with liar game.
This not just your baseball manga because this manga have Tokuchi Toua, the best thing about Tokuchi is that he apply his gambling skills in every baseball game especially in the last arc. This will make you take on a new perspective in baseball
Usogui doesn't have a strong start, but it's one of the very few manga that manages to be extremely entertaining even after 40 volumes. This manga is currently ranked 3rd but I believe it should deserve better. The lack of recognition of this manga is painful to watch.
Glad to see quite possibly the most underrated manga #3 on this list. Madarame Baku is the ultimate genius.
The best, the way he exploit lies and how he is so sure about his gamble makes Madarame Baku in my opinion the smartest person in the psychological universe
Mirai Nikki at first was pretty much like a cliche manga where you could pretty much predict Yuno Gasai defeating otter diary owners for Yukkiteru Amano. But the more I read it the more surprises and thrills it gave, I love how thrilling it is and how it kept me hyped up wondering who would be God.
If your a girl you might not like it... BUT GUYS WILL! Very interesting, introduces crazy wifu-status girl... Whose really, really nuts. Read for the death
And more importantly the plot... Both story plot and the non type story plot
This was awesome. The plot was well done and the plot twist, oh my god. This is honestly my favourite manga of all time.
Mirai Nikki is so good Yuno is the best character (I prefer her to the main character)
Even though, Detective Conan is more suited to detective genre than a psychological, The Black Organization plot is must-read one to all the psychological fans.
Can't say this is psychological genre. A mere detective story with some romantic comedy for me.
Even though its pretty long, it's so worth it! the plot, characters and I love all of it!
Best manga I ever read
This is just some of hardcore gamblers out there and he will do anything to win, good read 8/10
Totally forget the story after finish it for a while. It doesn't leave much impression.
In my opinion it is one of the best psychological manga I have ever read and the anime is good too
One of the aspects of Tokyo Ghoul that I absolutely love is how Kanekis personality changes constantly though out the series and the way that it is depicted it amazing as well. Even so Tokyo Ghoul has many other amazing characters and we get to understand them and their motives even if they are just side characters.
My favorite manga of all tim. Brilliant symbolism, character development, and world building that seems to expand more and more with every read. Unbelievably well written and complex characters, especially our main, Kaneki. Easily #1 for me.
The best psychological manga. Tokyo ghoul and it's sequel Tokyo ghoul:re is amazing. The mangaka gives the reader new surprise every chapter, even when we think it's impossible. He also likes symbolism. So, it's like solving a riddle
Agreed! This manga is one of the best that I've ever read. The author is a genius and he knows what to do. Every characters are fleshed out, and I was able to connect with them. Re does not disappoint either.
It was like I was seeing through the eyes of a depressed person. It made me question every single thing that I do. The protagonist is such the average person and yet all of that happens to him. And it's not all about him. This manga shows the perspectives of all the characters and you learn how they effect him and the other way around. My opinion is to read lighter psychological manga's first because this will be way to much for someone that is happy and satisfied with their life. I really question if people that had depression before will like this manga. Maybe because they can relate to it, but they probably might become depressed again. I wish there were more reviews on this manga cause I am still not sure what the different forms of his head meant. If anyone can explain that to me please do! Anyways it's a roller coaster for sure it has 141 chapters and it will tear your heart, mind and soul out :D
This was one of the first psychological mangas I ever read and it like changed me as a person. It still gives me chills thinking about it. You discover a new perception of the world and it makes you understand and appreciate everything a little more and it plants your feet on the ground by filling you up with all these different emotions idek but it's the most beautiful manga I've ever read and I think everyone should put some time aside to read it thoroughly.
This manga should definitely be listed under alternative...
It has all the things you want and all the things you don't want. It's so real and might hit home. Dabbles into philosophical mysteries and certainly psychological truths. Very great read. 10/10
This manga helped me get through so many tough situations in my life. It made me see everything from a different perspective and helped me understand the human mind further more. It's definitely a perfect read.
A series that leave you wondering, and for every person it might have its unique appeal.
I for one was entranced by the "person without a name" part, but for my friend it was another part that hit close to home. That shows just how rich this. It's deep.
I actually rank this higher than Death Note, but close. Death Note may have a more attractive characters art-wise, but no characters scared me like Johan Liebert do.
Wow, I don't even know how to describe it. It was done so masterfully, as someone who has read and enjoyed both Death Note and Monster, I can say that this far surpasses Death Note, they are not even close to being in the same league.
After I finished this manga I just looked up and stared at the ceiling.I do not know for what period.I only remember feeling weird on the inside, like I was about to do something spontaneous but I do not know what.
Some of its lines "So this is what true sadness feels like...a lot like happiness" just cuts deep.Starts out slow.. you wont enjoy the ride but you will finish it,but you wont get closure it just lingers on in your head once every year or so.(needs to be number 1)10/10
Monster is a beautiful manga whose every page kept me hooked. The characters and plot are so wonderfully done. It's miles better than Death Note!
Best story...best artwork...it is the best manga ever.
Well, I don't even know from where to start, it was , luckily, one of the first mangas that I read, since then, I've never read something as good as this one manga. Many people said that Tokyo ghoul and many other well known mangas are psychological but I just couldn't relate when I read them after alice in border land.. like to me Imawa no kuni no Alice is the definition of despair, suffring, inner conflicts, dealing with hardships and surviving so to put it simple the word of "psychological" is exclusively made for this one. I know my comment sounds biased but this is how much impact this one manga has on me(I read it 3 times already). It's been a while since I started reading mangas, and this one was, is and will be my favourite manga ever!
It's got everything that a shounen /seinen manga these days hope for: A powerful mc (in his own way), thrill of plot, no nakama power to help all problems (in the start of the series, all of his friends are...), and still got moral value inside inspite of that.
Its full of trick, the quests are sometimes drawn in a way that make the reader want to guess the outcome. The later ending are a bit monotonous, but overall still a very good read.
Very smartly written and original. The characters were very interesting and the plot was thrilling. I loved the set ups for the games. It really shows the different variations of human nature in a survival game.
It's the best psychological manga in my opinion. The setting of the survival games in this manga is really interesting. I've read this manga three times already.
-serious like no jokes! I've read it two times there is no funny scene!
I just recently started to read it but it's so damn good, like I can't stop reading it! I totally love it!
Honestly this one grabbed my from the get go and now I can't wait to find out what is next
Amazing, I couldn't stop reading. The artwork was especially well done!
I was sceptical at first but found it very engaging
Ending was weird but I liked it!
This one, is the one that makes you almost disappointed in the end, its not that its bad but the way curves in the end is not just as pleasing as other
One of the best. Sincerely, if you are looking for a good psychological anime, I highly recommend this. Highly. Also Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni...my absolute favorite manga and the anime is great, considering length of the arcs and not being able to fit all of the details into the anime. But the prize are the visual novels. Umineko tak
Shiki, full stop...just...wow. The anime is amazing as well, with a majorly kick a $$ theme song by Buck-Tick.
It's yaoi, but Sakura Gari is amazing. Psychological? Oh hell yeah. You may need brain bleach and psychological /emotional counseling after, but damn...it's good. A personal favorite.
Umineko no Naku Koro Ni is Dante meets Agatha Christie...oh hell...just read everything from Ryukishi 07.
Yeah, it's good, but this is a manga list and isn't this an anime?
One of the best psychological anime I've ever watched
I feel like it is super underrated.
I love this manga. I highly recommend this series for those who like mystery and some thriller. A guy who has some kind of magic powers that will change the course of the future of others around him and himself.
The artwork might not be that good and it gradually loses the thrills. But the first half is truly unforgettable.
I really, really, love this manga, I wanna buy it personally. But they didn't have volume one anymore as this manga is an old manga. Sometime I'm confused with politics this and that but as you understand it, you'll get hooked for sure -w-
This is just some swindler on your service, got swindled? Call on this guy. Kurosagi is when you read it you feel a lottle "justice" on every read because the frauds there are the same on real life
Ranking kaiji at 22nd makes me doubt this list...
My top recommendations are
Liars game, death note, kaiji, one outs
What, kaiji for me is the most underrated anime of all time. yea sure the drawings are a bit annoying but the story line is unique. they said that the plot is predictable but the amazing quality on this anime is those games and tricks that are being pulled by the mc. psychological yet philosophical, this anime needs more attention. highly recommended! trust me on this
Well, the art sucks and the plot is expectable, but still a good read for starters
The plot is genius, and the art is amazing and unik
K as in Project K?
Was interesting, I recommend this to anyone who is also a fan of Battle Royal
This anime is disgusting and SAO is better than this.
The manga is amazing. The author exceptionally portraits what people are capable of when pushed into a corner. The manga is gory and dark, with the perfect amount of hope. You will be swept off your feet.9/10
Aku no Hana is one of Oshimi Shuzo most populair manga. It also has an anime that follows the manga very well. So if you want to watch the anime and then read the manga then by all means do so. This manga is about a boy that is being blackmailed by the rebel in school to do very disturbing things. by the way the protaginist is nothing like the mainstream ones, so not strong minded or striving for anything in life and especially not a role model however the female characters in Oshimi Shuzo's work all have a dominant and powerful vibe to them. Anyways... The manga revolves around the breaking of principles and norms and everything that makes you "who you are". I put bunny ear because society builds who you are. The anime's animation is like no other and the setting of it represents the way society boxes us in. The questionable atmosphere is accompanied by very creepy music. In the end all I can say is its defiantly an anime to watch. At first you will be like " The hell am I ...more
If you want a great read then go ahead. This honestly started off really slow for me but it began picking up and getting me into the dark threads of the circle. Highly recommended
Really good one. About stupid things people should do to change them selves, and grow up into something new.
