Best Punk Rock Bands

The Contenders: Page 7

121 Fall Out Boy Fall Out Boy Fall Out Boy is an American pop rock band formed in Wilmette, Illinois, a suburb of Chicago, in 2001. The band consists of vocalist and guitarist Patrick Stump, bassist Pete Wentz, guitarist Joe Trohman, and drummer Andy Hurley.

For once they deserve the place they were given "dinosaurs will die"

Fall Out Boy's song is lyrically diverse and shown to still be relevant to this day. FALL OUT BOY IS THE BEST. But they actually Don't care.

Probably the worst band to ever come into the music industry. Not punk rock not even pop punk.

Fall out boy rules no matter what

124 Aiden

Freaking hardcore band that you can listen to all the time and never get old.

125 The Living End

Best bloody band in the world, they changed my approach to music. And I owe everything to these guys. One of the best live bands in the world as well.

Crossover between Green Day and the Stray Cats! Rockabilly Baby!

Psychobilly

My old band Nasty Pasties played a lot of shows and tours with these guys. Trav their drummer through the 90s and early 2000s was a personal friend of mine. If you like psycobilly and The Living End check out another Aussie band called The Fireballs. Chris credits them with the main influence of The Living End along with Stray Cats - Parklink

126 Streetlight Manifesto

This band would be way higher if it were more well known, and any one who knows of streetlight are more likely going to be very well versed in the genre and have a plethora of equally respectable punk bands to chose from (NOFX, Bad Religion, Bad Brains, Dead Milkmen and Snuff to name a few). So because such an unfortunate situation, pop/punk bands that have infested this list have been ranked higher than this well deserving band.

Only the greatest ska band to ever grace the existence of humanity. Plus they did one of the most punk things a person could do. They downright told their fans to pirate their album, just so their label would make less money. Now that is punk.

Half of these bands aren't even punk and streetlight manifesto at 186 is the saddest thing I have ever heard or seen

This band is great I recommend it to anyone who likes Bad Religion, NOFX, and any 90s punk band.

129 The Get Up Kids

"Something to write home about" is a grossly underrated album

130 The Queers

The Queers are a classic/pop punk band that have been around for more than 30 years. They deserve to be way higher on this list. Joe King has always stayed true to the ideas of punk, where other bands have sold out.

classic punk band that you'd never think they were from new hampshire

The Queers are up there with the Ramones, fantastic!

133 Jimmy Eat World Jimmy Eat World Jimmy Eat World is an American rock band from Mesa, Arizona, that formed in 1993. The band is composed of lead vocalist and guitarist Jim Adkins, guitarist and backing vocalist Tom Linton, bassist Rick Burch and drummer Zach Lind.

Why is this so low? Vote higher

Should be higher - TheJazzMan

134 The Stranglers

The Stranglers are original, unique and musically a genius. Still producing albums and touring 42 years on. Should not be on this list they are a music genre all on there own!
The Sex pistols, The Damned, The Banshees, The Clash,999,The original Adam and the Ants, all great punk bands, all original styles and the patriarchs of punk.

Stranglers of the seventies were great, went to see them dozens of times. But eighties Stranglers sucked -went too pop. Their latest album is a bit of a return to form

When I heard the Stranglers for the first time it was a sudden epiphany, their 70's albums are as good as it gets. Period

135 Rufio

Absolutely fantastic band, they have by far some of the greatest intros into songs I've ever heard. They're instrumental capabilities are nothing short of incredible. I feel the only thing that held them back were the vocals, never felt they fit with the rest of the band.

What the hell? I can't believe Rufio wasn't in this list, A real PUNK ROCK band, unlike a lot of the bands on this list

Rufio is one of the few REAL punk rock bands on this list. Seriously, how many of these "punk rock bands" have released more than one punk rock album. Eg. Green Day = were punk rock but NOT NOW.

136 Die Toten Hosen Die Toten Hosen

One of the biggest band in Germany who have got their roots in punk, in fact, one could still class their music now as 'stadium punk' (a bit like Green Day). Songs like 'An Tagen wie diesen' und 'Bonnie & Clyde' are pretty great anthems, not to forget 'Pushed again', a brilliant cover of the T.V. Smith song. And also, their album 'Learning English: Lesson One' is an only covers album of old school punk classics (incl. songs by Ramones, 999, The Adverts, UK Subs, Sham 69, Chelsea, The Clash, Sex Pistols, etc.)

Tony sly=one of the best songwriter in punkrock

I cannot believe that NUFAN is so low on the list!

Oh come on NUFAN on 155?

I've never known a better writer or a better guy
His songs wouldn't just touch you, they would punch you in the eye
It doesn't happen a lot when everybody has the same thought “He wasn't supposed to die”
So let's clank our beers and give three cheers for Tony Sly

138 Joy Division Joy Division Joy Division were an English rock band formed in 1976 in Salford, Greater Manchester. Originally named Warsaw, the band consisted of singer Ian Curtis, guitarist and keyboardist Bernard Sumner, bassist Peter Hook, and drummer Stephen Morris.

161? lol

139 Bunkface

Best Punk Rock band from Malaysia

140 The Jesus Lizard

Indeed, deserves closer attention. Jesus Lizard is one of those small rare gems not many people know about.

A one of a kind punk band that needs to be considered for this list!
