Number 1 without a doubt. Alice In Chains has done great stuff but they're not really grunge,...they're metal.

Formed in Seattle, Washington in 1988 following the demise of Green River, Mudhoney's members are singer and rhythm guitarist Mark Arm, lead guitarist Steve Turner, bassist Guy Maddison and drummer Dan Peters. It makes me mad Pearl Jam is on this list. Pearl Jam isn't even pure grunge at all, Pearl Jam is poppy. I like Pearl Jam, but they're the least grunge-like grunge band.
