Best Rage Against the Machine Songs
The Top Ten
The guitar solo for this song is just plain epic. The lyrics and bass are also amazing. This song literally makes me feel pumped up every time I listen to it - UltraLunalaX
killing in the name should be no. 1 4 sure! the solo kicks ass! this will be the best 4eva of rage against the machine!
the solo is awesome 4some. this deserves #1
this song is beast. way better than bulls on parade. the solo is awesome!
it just is #1.
love "Killing In the Name" as well, but this runs home with it all
this should be no. 1 because it kicks ass
tom morello is just amazing. very powerful guitar and bass
Good job to Tom Morello. Sadly this band was already disbanded. Hope that they will have reunion. But not bad, they have their audioslave. - joshsanz
I'll have to be honest. I don't actually like killing in the name that much. I mean, it's a good song, but it's just really repetitive and it gets kinda boring after a while. By the way, whoever called guerilla radio on testify gorilla radio... You're just stupid -_-
ITS AWESOME THE GUITAR, VOCAL EVERYTHING IS GREAT. RATM ROCKS HARD
I'm really hoping that was spell check that turned it into gorilla road for the bomb track guy. This is a great song. And it deserves where it is on this list.
Listen to the lyrics... Its deservant of a top 2 spot. It's just awesome, whether you like or dislike the band, you have to agree that this song is a masterpiece.
Everything in this song is perfect head to toe. The cool effect ridden intro followed by one of the best Rage riffs. Melody and lyrics are fantastic. The backing vocal bridge is just great and the groovy solo is easily one of Morellos best.
Where is "vietnow"? That song is awesome.
Ah well, this song is just as good so it's got my vote.
Especially at 27-39. That is music at it's finest.
It all comes together in this song: excellent bass, tight drums, outrageous vocals and Tom Morello's incredible guitar skills. It has a devilish rhythm, incredible energy, and the lyrics exemplify what RATM is all about. In short: it rocks.
Of course Killing in the Name is number 1. Just because it's the anthem. But overall I'd say that this is one of the best songs ever written. Riff and Verse are so awesome, and the last kick in is just of of this world an just makes you wanna jump.
Not only is this an explosively political song that attacks the entire system, but the lyrics are of superior quality even for Rage Against the Machine's standards. Not to mention the rhymes throughout the entirety of the track are some of the highest quality of any Rage song. Put simply, this is sick.
From the vocals, to the complicated guitar riffs, to the sheer emotion and passion in this song, it is the best RATM song out there. You can just feel Zack's emotion as he screams "WAKE UP" at the end of the song.
This is Rage Against the Machine's most political song for sure, and the music really goes along with the message.
The very epitome of Rage against the machine - passionate, energetic, loud and one hell of a riff. This song has several different parts and finishes leaving you wanting to punch through a wall and start a revolution, though the song itself is only about propaganda. Oh, and the matrix.
Always forgotten this song. People tend to listen to the first album and extract from that. Much better than most of their other tunes.
Hard to choose because they have so many brilliant songs but that riff! That riff man. - wolphert
I love this song. Def my favorite. The riff is catchy as hell, the bass and drums are dope and the vocals kick ass!
This deserves to be at least top 3. That riff, Zach's flow, everything comes together in this song.
Testify and Renegades of Funk should both be higher up. Killing in the name of and Gorilla Radio should be 1 and 2.
Who controls the PAST, now controls the FUTURE! Simply awesome...should be 4th at least
Very Nice bass line.
Should be just a little further up
This song is so good that it makes you want to punch a politician in the face.
It endorses a terrorist organization, which is not very good... - JoLeKosovo
I got in my first car accident to this song. No one was hurt, no damage to the vehicle. Just slid off an icy road to a ditch. There probably was SOME damage to my ears actually. - HollywoodRose
Legendary song for this band and rock in general. Should be number #4 or #5 at least! When this song kicked of the releases for their self-titled album, there was NOTHING remotely like it on the radio waves. We need to pay tribute to this band and this particular song for bring heavy music to the mainstream.
I think they no need to name their other songs. It is must be like bombtrack 2 bombtrack 3...
Are you saying they're repetitive or that all their songs are good? - dubsinthetubs
I have like 50 favorite rage songs but this just sounds like nothing else
So mant catchy guitar riffs in one song... should be in the top 3 for sure
Wanted to put this track up the list but already used my vote for Maria, which is far better than the ratings appear to reflect
This in my humble opinion should probably be number 1 - espyorkshireman
Why is this song so low? It should be much higher in rating.
Great song. Sums up Rage for me. Great lyrics, great rhythm, strange weird driven lead guitar. The one lyric 'They say jump you say how high' is so effective and memorable. Awesome song
How is this not higher? This song is amazing. And lyrics are killer!
And the guitar! The guitar man
Genius, simple as that. The guitar sounds like nothing I've heard before or since.
Has always been will always be my favorite song. I use to make my boyfriend play this on his base.
This song should be considered in so many teachings of music because of its range from one genre to the next.
This makes people want to be, or wish they were, musical.
Just an unbelievable song unbelievable cover... Made it their own
Very funky beat, starts off with tweety guitar at the beginning and then BAM CHUNKY
This is the song that got me into RAGE and made me want to here more of there music. The Bass The Drums the Singing and Tom Morrello on the guitar is spectacular
The guitar, the bass, the drums, the vocals, everything's amazing.! Who can forget the solo!
I'd have to say that Killing in the Name is probably the best, but I voted for this song due to the fact that a no. 7 ranking is far too low for one of the best RATM songs.
Feel the funk blast!
Hands down the best part of the Matrix sequels. Sure they sucked, but this would be the best part of the original too.
Their best song by far. There is no part of this song that isn't amazing.
Very tough choice, especially seeing as every single Rage Against The Machine (in my opinion) is absolutely incredible. Although there's something about this song I just prefer over others, I can't quite put my finger on it though, its just an amazing song!
The Calm lead up, the explosion of thundering Riffs and the stomping of Tom and Zach's feet when the riffs are played just makes this song cool. Above cool. - lilbullet111
Love rage against the machine, and if I had to pick my favorite, it would be this by far. The guitar riffs and lyrics are amazing. One of the best
Love this song! Love the riffs and especially love when zack shouts 'Born of a broken man! Born of a broken man! ' - wolphert
It is their best song. I think Tom Morello's guitar solo is the best he's done, even if he didn't use the wacky effects for it like he normally would. It's also on their best album.
The bass in this song is so awesome, definitely Top 5 for me
The teacher stands in front of the class. The lesson plan he can't recall. The students eyes don't perceive the lies notched on every wall.
How is this song not higher on the list? It is one of their better songs, and focuses on a very important issue: the Eurocentric schools in the USA. It can also relate to schools around the world too. Zack's lyric are very emotional and passionate, while Tom's guitar solo is a classic
The sliding on the neck of the guitar is amazing! The drum/bass solo at the end really sets this song apart from others!
By FAR one of their top 10 songs! How the hell was this not listed up there
These people ain't see a brown skinned man since their grandparents bought one
This is the best
This is the the national anthem of the USA. Not officially, obviously, but factually. It explains the evil, the distortion and the cause of confusion. It doesn't hate on the USA, it hates what the nation has done with its power -- what we have let it do.
How is this #36?! This is an awesome song with lyrics that are in my opinion 100% true!
Underrated song... Should be top 5.
How is at 40? Seems like this is their most underrated song, seeing as how it's not featured on most top 10 lists for RATM songs... Definitely my favorite
Morello's sound effects are insane in this trask, the "siren" effect during the verses goes so hard with the bass/drum groove. I can understand how the chorus is a little anti-climactic, but the guitar solo and the end of the song are so good.
Are you kidding me? This is definitely my favorite rage song. It should be top 5. It has great vocals by Rocha and the beginning of the song is just sick. The solo is awesome. This is such an under rated song. And if the vibe was suicide Then you would push the button But if ya bowin' down Then let me do the cuttin' Yeah! Come on! - mrmansfu2
How some this is spelt incorrectly? - Feirceraven
The crunchiest riff of all RATM songs
This is one of the greatest RATM songs! Why is it so low down in the poll?
THIS IS THE BEST
Amazing song... can't believe all you haters dislike...
This is the only RATM song that I dislike. I absolutely hate this song
One of the most underrated ratm songs. The slow funky verses building to the hard hitting riff crescendo along with the excellent lyrical storytelling makes this song a standout track on the Battle of Los Angeles, amd my personal favorite RATM song.
I know that rATM stuff is all of a really high standard mainly because the songs were never meant as a commercial venture but rather a ven against commercialsm, and the whole "machine" in general
And I an athyist but, amen to that - espyorkshireman
no matter how many times I play this song I just want 2 bang my head
One of my absolute favourite head-banging tracks ever!
Coming back around again!
How is this not in the top 10?! Hell this might be their number 1! The lyrics are phenomenal, Tom Morello's guitar playing is fantastic, and the whole song itself is a masterpiece!
This song talk about war, politisc and All the world. It's one of songs which change history.
It's greatest song from Evil Empire! - Greatest song after first album!
Definitely a top RATM song, one of the best. Top 5
Why on 21?
WAAA! This should be at least top 5. How the guitar in the background is just like doo dooo doo! Awesome! - MJ2
One of Rage's not so well known songs, still stands as an epic in my books. Of course off the great Renegades cover album. - lilbullet111
This is one good song people yea!
The main riff makes this such a powerful song! Morello's guitar playing in this song is just impossible to get out of your head
This is the most unique song ever written. The sound effects are so unusually pleasurable!
Wicked song. Great main riff. One of the best Rage Against The Machine songs ever made.
Best RATM song in concert. Period.
Probably their best cover.
This is my number 1
This song has to be in the top 10! With killer bass in the and awesome lyrics! This song won a grammy for the best metal single in 1997!
One of my favorite songs of all time
Meaningful lyrics. Immaculate instrumental performance. - dharmiisha
Should be much higher in my opinion
I have no idea why nobody likes this one. Its in my opinion by far the best they made. I'm just sad now.
Tom morello guitar solo sounds like a cow... "MO! "
Heard Maggie's Farm on the end credits of "The Other Guys" movie, it was the best part of the film. Even non-fans would like this track along with Killing in the Name.
How is this not higher? It's really unique compared to their other songs and the lyrics are killer. Easily in my top 3 and.
Not a song composed by the band. Bob Dylan made it good. But Rage made it better. - dharmiisha
Should easily be without a doubt in the top 5!
Amazing lyrics and the solo is great! Not my favorite rage song but should be up in the top 20.
This is the best cover song ever made. Profanities are awesome. The rock version is so much better then nwa's
Killing in the name definitely earnes #1, but just wanted to vote for this because this is the only rage song my boyfriend knows so...
Best rap Zach ever did
Dope bassline, classic rage lyrics are awesome. should be so much higher and the solo is killer! Wicked song
Amazing song, with an amazing riff and bass. Definitely deserves a spot in the top 10
THIS SONG IS FIRE
This is off The Crow soundtrack and I'm honestly staggered it's not on here! Brilliant song...
I can't believe one of the 5 best Rage Against the Machine songs isn't even in the list!
This song is definitely one of their best songs
This and born of a broken man are the best by far
This cover of the Stones classic is one of RATM's most underrated songs... one of their best!
Just added this 1 becase it wsn't on the list - espyorkshireman
I know this song is a little slower than some of their more popular ones but this song is powerful lyrically and is just flowing with so much anger. Maybe not top 10 but should rank higher than anything on Renegades. Those were all cover songs. Some good songs but nothing written by Zach.
This is a beautiful song both lyrically and musically. It is soft but very dark.
Almost grunge in my opinion
This song epitomizes Rage against the Machine with explosive yet superbly written about the American Lie (Dream), and their best rhythm and a fluid and rocking guitar this should be in the top ten!
This song is so awesome, I can't believe it's so low on the list. If I had to pick a favorite song from each record it would be:
1: township rebellion
2: snake charmer
3: born of a broken man
4: pistol grip pump
what man num 38?
Come on, this cover is maybe not typical RATM but it still kiks ass
