Best Hip Hop Albums of 2010
The songs are a little bit popish and repetitive and there is no slim shady which kinda sucks. BUT it was a terrible year for hip hop so Eminem will always win just for his lyrics. It was close between this and MBDTF but Kanye has some of the worst lyrics I've ever heard
He is the reason the world had to show more respect to rap. Even at 38 he hits it hard and sad to say, the best rappers are seemingly about to retire. From Eminem and Jay-Z we've come to B.O. B, Nelly and Whiz Khalifa. Hopefully Em will do another 5-10 years before calling quits.
Eminem's comeback and does really well, just a shame the collaborations were bad.
I think it's blasphemous that Recovery is rated as a better album than MBDTF on here. MBDTF is genius production-wise, combining strings, soul samples, guitars, and other elements of production, and truly cinematic composition to create a very grandiose album without ever feeling overwhelming. Lyrically Kanye can come off as corny sometimes on here but the subject matters and flow are very interesting here. Recovery, on the other hand, was a decent at best album that showcased Eminem, once called one of the best rappers of all time, selling out with horrible pop songs like "Not Afraid" and "Love the Way You Lie" with bad mainstream beats and corny punchlines. I guess the content on there was OK but it got repetitive. I just don't see how Recovery is a better album than My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, sorry Eminem stans. MBDTF was probably the best hip hop album of 2010, even though I think To Pimp a Butterfly by Kendrick Lamar has surpassed it this year.
A excellent positive & enjoyable album! Africa need attention and Nas & Damian Marley made it! My favorite album of ALL TIME!
Definitely a lyricist like Nas has to take the cake. The album is not that bad overall. Much better than that Recovery
Definitely the best rap album ever.
A lot of people like to hate on cudi because they don't understand his music. But he doesn't make music for everybody he makes for him and the fans that are just like him. On this album he pushed the envelope on how far he could go it was more genre bending and his lyrics were even realer.
Lyricism, flow, and very relatable. He's got blue collar swag, and everyone should give him a listen. Proud to be Canadian.
