Top 10 Reasons to Get Excited for Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury

Re-releases of games have a really hard time pleasing me. Sure if I don't have the original game, I will happily buy it, but if I do have the game, there is a very low chance that I will end up buying it, especially considering what was done with remakes those last few years. To give you an idea, while the Crash Bandicoot N Sane trilogy and the Spyro Reignited trilogy are very competent remakes, I don't feel like they did enough to make me want to buy those games if I already had the original. However sometime, you have remake or re-release that actually has the effort needed to make me buy the game a second time. The Pokemon remakes, the Kirby remakes, Super Mario 64 DS, Metroid Zero Mission, and Samus Returns are all excellent remakes that I happen to have on top of the original that I already bought before. And this year, in February, will feature a remake that I am really excited about: Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury. This looks like a re-release that is actually really awesome. It looks great for both people that didn't have the original game, and people that had the original game like me. And I (and maybe others that will comment) will be ready to explain why this game will be amazing.
The Top Ten
1 Faster characters

One of my biggest problems with the original 3D world was that the characters felt too slow, which makes it the least satisfying 3D Mario game to control. It one of the most consistent to control, and it's not the kind of game that punishes you because of sensitive controls or things like that, but it is not at all the kind of game that simply moving around is fun. In the remake however, it looks like the characters goes faster, which can solve this issue. Maybe it will still be too slow, but at least we will be making steps forward.

2 Bowser's Fury will be a collect-a-thon

Now, let's talk about Bowser's Fury, shall we? This game mode is THE reason why I want to buy this game despite already having the original. Bowser's Fury adds actually new content that wasn't there in the original, and it makes you want to buy this remake. And what I really love about this game mode, is that thanks to its existence we have on one hand Super Mario 3D World, which is an amazing linear experience that has a chaotic but fun multiplayer for those who prefer games like Super Mario Bros 3, World or the New Super Mario Bros games, and on the other hand, you have Bowser's Fury, which is collect-a-thon that is more open to exploration, like games like Super Mario 64, Sunshine or Odyssey, all the while keeping 3D world's mechanics to keep its own identity. Therefore, you have the best of both world, and Bowser's Fury offers something very different from the original, giving you reason to have the remake even if you have the original.

3 Bowser's Fury seems big

Ever since the first trailer, I knew Bowser's Fury would be something like a collect-a-thon, due to the way the level-design was setup. I didn't know however that it would be this big! Granted, it is a game mode, and not a full game, but compare to other side modes, like Olimar's missions in Pikmin 3 Deluxe or the battle mode in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe it might as well be. Like I thought you would be able to finish it in the time you could finish 1 world and a half in 3D World, but it actually looks like it could take longer than the isle of armor in pokemon sword and shield (I'm talking about the main quest, not catching every pokemon)! That's probably why Super Mario 3D all stars was so lazy! It's because all the efforts went into making Bowser's Fury!

They should do Super Mario 3D world 2 and make it like Bowser's Fury.

4 It's Super Mario 3D World on Switch

This is more for the people that don't have the original version. I just find it really cool, that people that didn't buy the hugely underappreciated Wii U, have a chance to play the game that made me buy a Wii U originally. Come on! It's 3D World! Linear Mario games at its finess (unless you count the Galaxy games as linear Mario games, and then Super Mario Galaxy 2 is better, but anyway)! For me not even the highly praised World and Bros 3 surpassed it! Super Mario Land 2 is very close second though. Not only that, but the fact it's on Switch means that you can play it on the go, which is really nice!

5 Online multiplayer

Apparently there will be online multiplayer, and while it is not MY thing, I'm sure some people will really like this. Although, knowing Nintendo's reputation with online, it will not be the best, but at least it's there.

6 God Slayer Bowser looks epic

If Bowser in Odyssey was Bowser at its most unlikable, and Bowser in Super Paper Mario at its funniest, Fury Bowser or God Slayer Bowser in Japan is Bowser at its scariest! He looks super badass, and frightening.
Not only that, but fighting against him seems like the best spectacle I have ever seen in a video game! Dodging his fire breath, and the pillars coming from the sky, seeing this giant presence in the background, and earing this amazing music track, is the definition of epic! Not to mention that to beat it you have to transform into Super Sayan cat Mario, which I am very excited how it's going to be.

7 Expanded moveset

The remake actually has moves that the original didn't have. For example, you can now dive into a roll, just like in Odyssey.

8 There is mode for taking pictures like in Odyssey

It's not the coolest thing in the world, but it's cool to have.

9 Intriguing story

I don't think it will be the biggest thing of this game mode, but it has some potential. The fact that Bowser's situation is so bad, that Bowser Jr wants to help you defeat Bowser, seems pretty cool, and maybe we can have some cool NPCs. Who knows?

10 Bowser Jr. is in it Bowser Jr., or sometimes simply Jr., is a video game character who appears in Nintendo's Mario franchise as the secondary antagonist. He is the youngest son of the series' primary antagonist, Bowser.

Bowser Jr wasn't in the original game for some reasons (I mean it was the same period that he wasn't in Mario Kart, which is kind of funny), but now he is helping you, and he is playable, which is very nice.

The Contenders
11 It won't replace the Wii U version, so it's still exciting even if you played it on the Wii U

I don't understand that argument. How does not replacing the Wii U version make it more exciting? Doesn't that make the Switch version not as good as it could have been since it is not the ultimate 3D world experience.

12 New amiibos

Cat Mario and Cat Peach amiibo are cool. You can bet I'm gonna buy them, even if I never use them.

13 Stamps have a purpose

It is true that it is cool to have the stamp not relying on an online service to be useful, and instead being for making cool pictures.
