Reasons The Metal and Pop War Should Stop
A common war that I see a lot on the internet is metalheads vs. Pop fans. Personally, I think this and all of the other internet wars are very unecessary and here are the reasons why.Actually, music is objective.
Music taste, on the other hand, is subjective.
Metal is probably the most complicated music genre instrumentally, so yes, it does take talent to do, and just because some pop singers take the easy way doesn’t mean all pop singers are like that. If you believe otherwise, take a look at Adele, Demi Lovato or Ed Sheeran. They may not be the best examples, but they’re a few out of the many who can sing without autotune, and there’s nothing wrong with using a little bit of autotune in the studio. Some metal singers use it as well. There’s a big difference between that and pretty much relying on it.
Like I said, music is subjective, and nothing can impress everybody. You’ve just gotta accept the fact that there are people who do like it.
Both genres have fans who are welcoming to people who prefer another genre, but both genres also have some people that like to pick fights about how their music is better, so neither fanbases are good,
This one is pretty self-explanatory...
There are a lot of pop artists who like metal such as Avril Lavigne, Demi Lovato, Lady Gaga etc.
Just because someone like pop doesn’t make them close-minded or stupid, and just because someone likes metal doesn’t make them a devil worshipper. The only close-minded people here are whoever came up with such stupid stereotypes, because I know many smart pop fans and I have not met a single metalhead who is actually a satanist.
The number of times I've seen people say "Pop is satanic because it glorifies partying, not metal."... This is a bad argument. You're treating the other side as stupidly as they treat you.
