Top 10 Reasons Not to Make Lists About Next Year Unless They Are Prediction Lists

I've seen some lists that do this, but I don't like the idea

1 It's a trick, when the year starts, the list will be very popular
2 Most items aren't even confirmed
3 It's all just predictions
4 People won't vote until next year
5 Maybe whatever's on the list doesn't even exist

It is for this reason that so many attempts at adding future-year lists get merged into present-year lists. In some instances, such as with music, movies, or games, there are fairly concrete release dates. In those circumstances, we will approve the item or list. However, many lists about more fickle subjects, like athletes for example, will not get approved since there is no way of knowing their status until the day in question.

6 It takes the opportunity to make the list from people who wanted to wait
7 What If one of your items doesn't exist?
8 What if one of your items gets cancelled

Even if it's been announced, it may get cancelled.

9 What if one of your items is bad and your list says it's good?
10 People will not like that list, until it's next year
