Top 10 Reasons Super Smash Bros. Melee is Hands-Down the Most Overrated Game in the Series

The Top Ten
1 Nostalgia blindness

That's the main reason.

2 Melee fanboys often treat Brawl and Smash 4 like the absolute worst things ever because of it
3 The character balancing is actually somehow even WORSE than it was in Brawl and Smash 4
4 Brawl and Smash 4 were both way bigger and overall more polished games
5 Something like half of the entire character roster is literally made out of clones
6 Many of its stages are almost as bad for competitive play as Brawl's

In what way? Battlefield, dreamland and FoD are very similar to each other, FD is battlefield with removed platforms, pokemon stadium isn't bad, just some of the stage changes are dumb, and yoshi's story is battlfield with moving cloud platforms and tilted ledges.

7 Fox and Falco should NOT be this damned overpowered
8 The AI is the absolute worst in the series
9 It wasn't even the best Gamecube game; look at Resident Evil 4 and the first two Metroid Primes for examples of reasons why

Ashley Graham tried to ruin Resident Evil 4

10 Yes, the single-player mode was good, but it really wasn't THAT good
The Contenders
11 People treat it way too seriously as a competitive fighting game, even more so than they did and still do with Smash 4
12 Seriously, it had Pichu in its playable character roster

That is like rubbing it in Raichu's face. If characters like Pichu can get in, just put in Raichu already.

13 The later games also had way better character rosters
14 It should have had Final Smashes way before Brawl, but ended up not having them due to how phenomenally rushed it was
15 Seriously, it's the most rushed-in-development game in the entire series, and it actually kind of shows at times
16 No Sonic or Pac-Man
17 Target Test being changed in Brawl REALLY wasn't that big of a deal
18 Even the graphics were laughable compared to some of the other games on Gamecube
19 There's a very big difference between having the best soundtrack of a series and the best actual gameplay
20 Though not as badly as in the later games, the single-player mode still involves a LOT of cheap/fake difficulty
21 It's the one game in the series that literally just about no one ever uses powerups in
22 You Need to have a Pikmin Save Data on your Gamecube Memory Card just to get a trophy.

So, Basically, if you didn't have enough time to buy Pikmin, You're never gonna get all the trophies.

23 The stages were not so creative
