Reasons Thrash Metal is Better Than Black Metal

NO. Mayhem sounds nothing like Watain, who sound nothing like Wolves in the Throne Room, who sound nothing like Darkthrone, who sound nothing like Arkanum, who sound nothing like 1349, who sound nothing like Forteresse, who sound nothing like Enslaved!

Not saying all thrash sounds the same either. But in truth I'm not a thrash guy anymore.

*sigh*...Nope. I'll definitely express my views for this when I get time.

Otherwise known as "writing about what you believe in" at least that I can respect. And no, not all of it is like that.

That's why I say heavy metal is the best metal genre. It has more variations than any extreme metal. Thrash, death or black. On the other hand, no other genre of metal could hit as much as notes like neoclassical or prog metal.

Actually, neither black nor thrash metal have any melody. It only gets melodic when other types of metal solos are mixed in them. For example, the solo on Tornado Of Souls isn't any thrash metal solo. Its neoclassical metal solo. Marty Friedman used to be a neoclassical metal guitarist. He used neoclassical minor scales in many songs of Megadeth.

And I applaud black metal for sounding like it was recorded underwater, or in a storm. Anyone would think that's the type of atmosphere they're going for.

Thrash really doesn't have melody. Just because it's a better produced doesn't make it melodic.

There are a lot of one man black metal bands who play every instrument, never seen that with thrash. And Black metal will always be more experimental. Most (not all) modern thrash bands can't get out of the 80s.
