Well, I think you could take away mercury and it wouldn't change the earth at all. Then again, you could also take away Jupiter from the solar system and have little impact... (I don't want to have to eat my words though, for all I know, taking Jupiter away could lead to an apocalyptic event, so uh... Don't take any planets away from our solar system, please? ). My point is... Umm.. I don't really know, but I'm posting this comment anyways!
Just think about it for a second: Earth, the blue planet, and the THIRD planet gave birth to animals, humans, knowledge, and everything we know of on this planet. We also live on Earth, and without humans coming to Earth, physics, art, and many other things would not have been existent.
