Top Ten Reasons Why Corporal Punishment in Schools Should Be Banned Everywhere
I read about this in school so that article gave me inspiration for this list. All of these reasons are good reasons to ban it. I read a story in English class where corporal punishment towards a kindergarten student was mentioned constantly. They even mention that he was spanked in front of the class. Apparently all teachers from the beginning of school to 1980's all hated children and beat them for making honest mistakes. I read a book about Egyptian History and it mentioned that students would be beaten if they got an answer wrong. That is wrong on so many levels. If I see a teacher spank or perform corporal punishment on a student, that teacher is getting instant karma.
Lemme ask you a question. Do you think you deserve to be hit with a paddle for not doing homework? If the answer is no then don't do it to other children for the same reason.
True.Sometimes kids do deserve to be beat(I've had it before) but not doing homework isn't one of them.
You hurt the child more by not punishing them.
Well it depends on how bad the child's actions were.
This sets a bad example on the children because it makes them think violence is the answer.
If I was gonna get beat every time I didn't do my hw I'd be hella scared
I skipped 2nd grade because of this.
Either that or the child becomes too scared to abuse anyone or do anything because he/she knows someone will beat them if they even attempt to do the slightest thing.
If it's non stop beating everyday it can lead to depression and suicide.
If an adult was doing it to another adult and you'd get arrested.
In the article I read a girl came home with bruises and couldn't walk the same for a week.
Imagine being a potential school shooter and you get hit with a paddle every day
They get so traumatized that they have had to be put in meds, go to therapy, they try to avoid school, they cried more often, etc...
