Top Ten Reasons Why Elsa Is a Terrible Sister

Thatgirl
Most fan on the top ten praise Elsa more than life but here's what I think

The Top Ten

1 Almost killed Anna twice

Dur my name is Elsa but I can't control my powers! ( tosses Anna out of castle where they have to fight marshmallow to the death )
Fans -" we still love you " "I LOVE YOU ELSA! ALMOST KILLING YOU SISTER WAS FUNNY! " "Why I like Elsa : blah blah blah." - Thatgirl

Oh how kind to send a monster to almost kill your sister!

Elsa did not want to kill Anna. She did not mean to.

Yeah, Elsa does not hurt anyone on purpose.

Yeah, you tell them. You know who we mean. Those stubborn Elsa haters.

Umm... Anna derserves to die. Good job, Elsa!

2 Randomly left her sister

Dur I'm Elsa! I almost killed my sister so I'll never see her again! Anna - " are you okay? " Elsa - " GO AWAY! I don't LIKE YOU! " - Thatgirl

The thing is that Elsa isn t a villain.

She never went I hate this kingdom. I m casting an eternal winter on it just because. Muahahahhaha! . Everything was really an accident that Elsa never planned for it to happen.

When she freezes Arendelle, she s just trying to escape. Elsa has no practice on her powers so she doesn t know what freezing the water in the fjord can do. She just wants to get away from there.

The reason why she pushes her sister away is because she can t stand the idea of hurting her with her powers by accident. Elsa never hated Anna. Elsa never aimed to hit her sister s head nor her heart later in the movie.

Elsa didn t create Marshmallow to be evil. He represents the sad part of Elsa who pushes people away. If you think about it, all he says is Go away . He doesn t turn evil until Anna throws a snowball at him and makes him feel attacked.

Elsa never hates Anna. She just doesn t believe what Anna is asking for is possible. ...more

Leaving her alone won’t fix anything. It will just create more stress and more tension.

3 Running away like the coward she is

Good analysis. However, I should point out that Elsa never really gives up her sense of responsibility. When she first unleashes her power and declares herself "free", she has no idea that her power is affecting other people. She assumes that she can be herself without harming anyone. When she realizes that this is not the case, she immediately tries to bring her power under control, something that she finds impossible to do. Elsa is never irresponsible; she is actually constrained by her responsibility. She feels the weight of it all the time, which is one of the reasons that "Let It Go" is so liberating.
Elsa is insecure, an introvert, and not exactly a lover. But she is a truly original and different Disney Queen/Princess. Unlike the other Disney pricesses she is a soul trapped in fear. Let it go, the hit Disney song attracted a lot of people. Elsa was free at last, but this would last shortly. When Anna found Elsa alone at her castle Elsa immediately switches back to her fear ...more

Yes, running away may not have been the best way to handle the situation, but can you honestly say that you wouldn't freak out to some degree if you accidentally unleashed paranormal capabilities in front of a large crowd of strangers?

At least she didn't run away from her problems and cried like a baby instead of facing them like Elsa, so I guess it's okay for her to be weak from time to time.

Now Anna is, without a doubt my favourite 'Frozen'-character! She is adorkable and funny and waaayyy more attractive then Elsa (just look at those cute freckles! ). But, of course she like almost all of the Frozen cast, eventually turned out to cheesy of a person for me to like. I was fine with her, being a little cheesy at the beginning because I thought she'd turn out to be a badass character in the end. But none of that happened! As the plot continued, Anna turned more and more into a stereotypical damsell in distress, instead of a strong heroine, like I wished her to. But hey, at least she didn't run away from her problems and cried like a baby instead of facing them like Elsa, so I guess it's okay for her to be weak from time to time.

4 Freezes the kingdom she rules

Elsa is probably the most irresponsible, poor role model to come out of animated movies in a long time. She freezes the entire kingdom trapping hundreds, if not thousands of people and preventing them from doing their work or returning to their own places. On top of this, she almost kills her sister at least 3 times, nearly kills a dozen other people throughout the movie, and the real kicker is, she never even offers an ounce of an apology. She clearly has terrible morals yet expects everything to be handed to her. After all of these outright terrible things that would account for at least a dozen felonies in any country around the world, she comes back to "her" kingdom, throws a little dust in the air, and suddenly everyone loves her. The original plot had her being an antagonist and it's easy to see why. Her character is so unlikable it should alienate anybody who watches this with even a slight sense of moral worth. Think about it, Elsa never once offers an apology or explanation ...more

Dur I'm Elsa! Anna - " can I marry--" Elsa - no I do not want to go to another event because I might kill someone! Anna - what? Elsa - AHH! ( freezes kingdom ) - Thatgirl

Yep, she freezes her kingdom. Pretty irrisponsible to me - panda21

Elsa didn't mean to freeze her kingdom. She was only scared because her parents misunderstood her.

5 She looks evil

Elsa is not even portrayed to be evil, but she is overrated.

Stupid Jennifer Lee and stupid Chris Buck really should've created and included another snow queen who is really portrayed to be evil like the titular original snow queen if Elsa really deserves to be another heroine of Frozen, not even portrayed to be evil.

Have you seen her make up?! She should really be the villain - Thatgirl

Another villain/villainess should've been another snow queen who is really bad like the titular original snow queen if Elsa really deserves to another heroine of Frozen. Frozen haters are really disappointed in Jennifer Lee and Chris Buck, angry and furious at and with Jennifer Lee and Chris Buck for not creating and including another snow queen who is really evil like the titular original snow queen. You guys are so mean to Elsa! Elsa is the eldest so she is more mature for wearing more makeup! Plus she's 21. She's an adult. Anna is still a teenager she's 18. And you guys need to watch your language. Even though it's a MOVIE you don't need to be so rude. Anna and Elsa are both very lovely girls but it's a movie. Every one has their own opinions.

Elsa is evil already - panda21

Hey! Stupid Jennifer Lee and stupid Chris Buck should've created and included another snow queen who is really bad and evil like the titular original snow queen if Elsa really deserves to be another heroine of Frozen. You really should take it up with Jennifer Lee and remind her that she could've or should've create another snow queen who is just plain evil like the titular original snow queen if Elsa really deserves to be another heroine of Frozen instead.

Look at that wild hair and creepy smirk!

6 Everyone loves her even though Anna was the one that not only fixed stupid Elsa's problems but still loved her and would risk her life for her even though Elsa tried to kill her so she still used the last ounce of her strength to save her.

When Anna found Elsa alone at her castle Elsa immediately switches back to her fear mode as she clearly states she is a fool for all she has done. Anna reassures Elsa but it it isn't enough so Elsa accidentally freezes Anna again. Not knowing this, she sends Anna away by making Marshmallow the abdominal snowman. And as for Elsa, she loses control of her powers again starts ruining her castle. Within minutes, some castle guards arrive and take Elsa to prison. Elsa escapes and Anna helps her unfreeze the blasting winter. Over all Anna represents happiness and love and Elsa represents protection and caringness. Elsa and Anna are two lovable sisters but so different from each other. Be yourself!

Just bold. What did Elsa do? Hm let's see.. Problems, death, ice, stupid, evil, stupid, stupid, yeah all she has is ice powers. Big whoop. Heat beats ice to if I fart hard enough on her she'll melt. - Thatgirl

Elsa does not hurt anyone on purpose. Elsa did not want to kill Anna. She did not mean to.

You can't fix someone's fear. And any other emotion. - rockishlittlegirl

Elsa acts like a coward and never facing her mistakes.

7 Elsa wouldn't let Hans and Anna marry each other

This isn't bad because love at first sight can be dangerous because you don't even know the person that much - watchandgame101

Elsa shut all the German fairytales down QUICK!

8 Doesn't go to parents' funeral

Chris Buck and Jennifer Lee, just because Elsa has powers doesn't mean you can't let her go to her own parents' funeral and I tell you two that right now. This is all your fault for making Elsa missing her own parents' funeral. You made Elsa miss her own parents' funeral. You two did that on purpose. You two are going to be so guilty for this and that. You will regret the choice you made. What were you two thinking making Elsa missing her own mother and father's funeral? Are you insane or what? Elsa never ever even deserve to miss her own parents' funeral. We Anna and Elsa fans really feel angry and upset. You two could've let us see Elsa at her parents' funeral alongside her little sister Anna. Making Elsa missing her own parents' was the stupidest choice that the two of you have ever made. Why did you make Elsa miss her own parents' funeral? Why didn't you let Elsa go to her own parents' funeral? How come you didn't let Elsa go to her parents' funeral with her little sister Anna? ...more

Stupid writers and directors of Frozen should never ever even make Elsa miss her own parents' funeral.

I think that represented how low and fearful and guilty Elsa felt. She didn't go out because she was afraid she'd let her powers out. And that she'd see Anna. She wasn't prepared for that. And,the only moment she got out of her room was when she was saying goodbye to her parents when they were about to travel. Maybe it was too much for her at the time. - rockishlittlegirl

I'd put Anna and Elsa back together after their parents died in a shipwreck and let Elsa go to her parents' funeral alongside her little sister Anna if I were those stupid writers of Frozen.

Well, blame the writers of Frozen for making Elsa missing her own parents' funeral.

9 Didn't give a crap about Anna until she died

She was responsible for her death - TwilightKitsune

IKR? Elsa didn't seem to show any love to Anna until she died.

Techanly she did die so ya... - Thatgirl

10 She's ugly

Her eyebrows make me want to puke - EleenFirePrincess

Well she's not ugly. She ranks number 6 on my prettiest DP list right after Anna. Although I dislike Elsa, I still think she's pretty like every other Disney Princess.

Queen Elsa Of Arendelle: (gasping in shock being insulted and hurt by Eleen's insults, started sobbing, burying her face in her hands, fleeing in tears) Did you just call me ugly and say my eyebrows make you want to puke? Oh, how could you say such awful things about me like that? Huh? How dare you badmouth me like that? I rather pretend I never ever even hear you badmouthing me like that.

Princess Anna Of Arendelle: Eleen, how dare badmouth my sister Elsa like that? Huh? How dare you call my sister Elsa ugly and say her eyebrows make you want to puke? Huh? You take that back. You made my sister cry. Nobody ever even insults my sister like that, makes her cry and gets away with it. How would you like it if I insult your sister Iris? Huh? Well?

The Contenders

11 Elsa is pessimistic

Immature female - Gamecubesarecool193

That is so true

Elsa :(yells) GO AWAY ANNA! (shoots anna's heart with ice). Yeah Elsa real mature! What a cowardly, rude, coldhearted queen. If she was in Massachusetts in 1692 in the Salem Witch Trials, she'd be dead already, because they'd put her as a sorceress.

12 She is dumb

She is stupid. She don't understand Anna loved her until her sister almost died.

Elsa is not dumb. Elsa is smart and intelligent like Hermione Granger.

Yeah because running away from everything, despite the consequence is SO smart and intelligent. - AnnaOfArendelle332

Princess Anna Of Arendelle: SHE'S NOT DUMB. SHE'S SMART AND INTELLIGENT, NOT DUMB SO TAKE THAT BACK. NOBODY CALLS HER DUMB AND GETS AWAY WITH IT. EVER. DON'T EVER CALL ELSA DUMB. YOU'LL MAKE HER CRY IF SHE HEARS YOU BADMOUTHING HER LIKE THAT.

Princess Anna Of Arendelle: MY SISTER'S NOT DUMB, SHE'S SMART AND INTELLIGENT.

13 Elsa is such a baby

A huge butt - Gamecubesarecool193

I agree

14 Created SnowMan to kill her Sister

You mean her little sister Anna and her giant bodyguard Marshmallow the giant snowman, right?

She created snowman who almost killer her sister and Kristoff

15 She ignores her responsibility

She should of protected anna from Hans, instead of running away

16 She created Olaf the snowman

He really gets on my nerves...

17 She is selfish

I'm so sick of people like Elsa haters dismissing Elsa as cold and selfish, because she isn’t that cold nor selfish either, is she? And she never was at all, was she?! She kept her distance from those she loved because she couldn’t easily bear to harm them at all, could she? And she did it all out of love, didn't she?! This is a perfect analysis of Elsa’s canon character, isn't it? The fact that she sacrificed her freedom and reputation on a daily basis for thirteen years - all to protect those around her - makes her such an incredible character. I’ll never understand how anyone can watch Frozen and not see this at all.

Anna (having fun at party): "I wish it could be like this all the time."
Elsa (smiles): "Me too..."
*Elsa frowns
Elsa: "But it can't."
Anna (reaches out to her sister): "well why no-"
Elsa (flinching away): "IT JUST CAN'T! "

I'VE GOT SECRET RANDOM ICE POWERS YOU KNOW NOTHING ABOUT...GOD ANNA, YOU'RE SO STUPID !

18 She's boring
19 She's a sissy
20 She's not funny

When I watched this movie, I fell asleep. - EleenFirePrincess

21 Elsa is more like a little sister than Anna

See if Elsa was the younger one I may like her more, but it seems like even though Elsa was the first born, Anna was more of the older sister.

At least Anna acutually checks on Elsa to see if she safe - watchandgame101

22 She is so full of her self

She dose not care

23 She acts mean even if she can turn things around
