Reasons Why Liv and Maddie is Better Than Modern SpongeBob

The Top Ten

1 It doesn't have an episode where the characters get into a war over being dirty like The Battle of Bikini Bottom

That episode was actually on yesterday. I simply changed the channel the moment I saw the title card. Then later The Splinter came on, and I once again changed the channel after the title card.

Looks good.. - DynastiSugarPop

Modern spongebob is better beacause the new movie was amazing

Spongebob for the win liv and maddie FTL - VideoGamefan5

2 It doesn't have an episode where a character gets a painful splinter in their thumb that gets swollen like The Splinter

Like I said, changed the channel.

Every episode of Liv & Maddie (with terrible nonsensical titles) is filled with gross-out humor and it makes you want to change the channel. - KennyRulz244444

3 It doesn't have bad morals

So, Stuck in the Wringer teaches you that crying will solve all your problems, The Battle of Bikini Bottom teaches you that it's OK to be dirty, One Coarse Meal teaches you to drive your ex-best friend/rival to suicide, and A Pal for Gary teaches you to scold your pet for something they didn't do. Liv and Maddie teaches kindness, friendship, perseverance, team work, and much more. Which sounds better to you?

Liv and Maddie is full of stereotypes. - Therandom

Liv & Maddie teaches you how to be a stereotypical blonde brat, it also teaches you the importance and encouragement of sexism. - KennyRulz244444

Liv and maddie has stereotypes and the person who said that trash teaches friendship teamwork and so on is a bad person

4 It doesn't have suicide jokes like One Coarse Meal or Are You Happy Now?

By contrast, this show encourages you to live life to the fullest.

5 It doesn't rely solely on toilet humor to be funny

While there are a few gross episodes, they are NOTHING compared to The Splinter, The Battle of Bikini Bottom, or The Gift of Gum among others.

6 It at least has its heart in the right place

Which would you rather watch, a warm-hearted show about family and friendship, or a mean-spirited show about a dumb starfish who acts stupid on purpose, a sponge who scolds his pet for something he didn't do, and a greedy crab who drives his rival to suicide?

I would love to watch the latter, because it had funny, moralistic, creative and amazing episodes from time to time (and if this was about old SpongeBob, it would be every episode). - KennyRulz244444

Spongebob over Liv and Maddie any day, even if its Modern - TwilightKitsune

7 It doesn't have an episode where a character tries to kill another character

Looking at you, Demolition Doofus.

8 It doesn't rip-off its own episodes or episodes of other shows

It rips off the "a-Rooney" term from Tweenies and earlier shows. - KennyRulz244444

Unlike how Pet Sitter Pat rips off A Pal for Gary or Are You Happy Now? rips off One Coarse Meal for example.

9 It's not repetitive

Liv & Maddie is the same formulae over and over again. Boys are helpless pricks while Girls are godly. - KennyRulz244444

Literally EVERY new SpongeBob episode takes place at The Krusty Krab. At least Liv and Maddie uses a variety of locations.

10 SpongeBob has worn out its welcome

SpongeBob lasted FIVE YEARS with awesome episodes and a movie, Liv & Maddie lasted, you guessed it, ZERO DAYS with horrible episodes and stereotypically bad morals. - KennyRulz244444

Seriously, this show has been dead for TEN YEARS now. Liv and Maddie is still going strong.

The Contenders

11 Liv & Maddie is simplistic and unoriginal so it is easier to follow

I can agree with this one! - KennyRulz244444

12 It doesn't have gore like The Splinter, House Fancy, or Pineapple Fever
13 It doesn't have scary faces like Face Freeze and Whatever Happened To Spongebob
