Top 10 Reasons Why People Think Heavy Metal Is Satanic

You know what really pisses me off? I am so sick and tired of ignorant people going around telling other people that Heavy Metal is satanic. It's not! It's normal music just like Pop, Rap, and Country. I mean seriously. What's wrong with you genre hating asss? You can Dislike Metal All You want but don't go Around saying that Metal is Satanic and requires no talent Whatsoever because it's not fact. It's not ' fact! I listen to all kinds of music but I don't view all of it as satanic. This is a stupid, stupid rumor that needs to die now. And that's why I'm counting down the top 10 reasons why people think that Metal is satanic.
The Top Ten
1 The Sign of the Horns

Dio: "It's NOT the devil's sign like we're here with the devil. It's an Italian thing I got from my Grandmother called the "Malocchio". It's to ward off the Evil Eye or to give the Evil Eye, depending on which way you do it. I doubt very much if I would be the first one who ever did that. I used it so much and all the time and it had become my trademark until the Britney Spears audience decided to do it as well."

Look at the cover of The Beatles' Yellow Submarine album (1969) - John Lennon's hand is making the sign above Paul McCartney's head! And it was before metal...

The horns were used by Dio's mother to ward off evil, and it just became adopted into the culture.

2 The Screaming

Okay I see your point but here's what my friends say, "u may have seen that when someone is possesed by a demon or an evil spirit, he talks in a deep growling voice and the heavy metal singers are also imitating that deep voice which is actually the voice of satan". what would you like to say to them? Plus I also listen to heavy metal and I can do fry screams and growls very well but I never felt satanic or possesed, it doesn't affects my idiosyncrasy so what's the point of this dilema?

Yeah, but the so called screamo isn't a metal subgenre, it's a punk subgenre.

You scream when you're afraid, right?

3 The Album Artwork

This is exactly why my parents think heavy metal is Satanic, just because of the artwork, they think it is pictures of the devil. But the artwork has 0% effect on me. And they think it is bad for my brain when it is better for my brain than all that pop and rap garbage and crunkcore.

Don't judge a book by its cover, right? So, why are you judging an album by the artwork when you know nothing about the band or what it sounds like?

4 The Noises
5 The Song Titles

So people are basically saying that songs like "Asmodeus", "The Eyes of War", "Infernal Future", and "Lust Injection" by Alex Dark Bullet are all satanic. It's not the instrumentals that are satanic. It's the lyrics, but Alex Dark Bullet's music doesn't have any lyrics.

6 The Media
7 The Band Names

- Judas Priest were named after Bob Dylan's song "The Ballad Of Frankie Lee And Judas Priest".
- Black Veil Brides aren't a metal band according to Encyclopaedia Metallum. I agree they aren't metal.

Now I can understand someone hating Alex Dark Bullet even though there are no lyrics.

Please...people thought KISS was satanic.

Black Veil Brides.. I don't know

8 They Confuse It With Black Metal
9 The Imagery
10 The Growling

It usually applies for metal. Not heavy metal. Heavy metal and metal is pretty difference. Heavy metal USUALLY doesn't use growling.

Anyway, I just stay out of these things. The metal bands I listen aren't accused of satanic.

The Contenders
11 The Mosh Pits

Mosh pits are just really metal's equivalent of roughhousing.

12 The Subject Matter in Their Songs

So? Why does that matter?
