Top 10 Reasons Why Sega is Better Than Nintendo

If you are a Nintendo fan then this list is not for you. This is a warning to all Nintendo fans. If you put negative comments here because you are a Nintendo fan or etc., then you have lost your rights to judge me and this list. Enjoy.
The Top Ten
1 Sega made disc made games first

No, Turbo-Grafx from Hudson Soft and NEC had a CD addon in December 1998. The Philips CDI came out the following year. The Sega CD came out in late 1992, and the games weren't really good. Closer to movies, and that was the general problem with the Sega CD.

You saying 32x (which was worse than the Sega CD but had a TINY CD addon collection of its own) is weird, but calling the SNES being irrelevant over mid-to-bad Sega addons when you only needed one SNES for all the power and stuff like pseudo 3D (Star Fox, DKC) and again, stronger in every way besides speed, feels fanboyish and ignorant to the SNES.

The Genesis was a fine console, but Sega not moving on fully or just not making addons, hurt them in the short AND long run. Both great consoles, but Sega tried too hard to overachieve, and ended up under achieving.

2 Sega has better consoles

Again, subjective. Lets look at power levels though. Master System and NES were tied in power because Master System was a bit weaker in everything besides whopping in color.

Come to the 16bit era, the Genesis tried to fight the NES. That meant that when the SNES came out, it got crushed in everything besides speed. Hence the Blast Processing commercial (which was false advertising).

But Sega then did a bunch of addons, which messed things up for the future. Not only for financials, but for the Saturn.

The Saturn launched in late 1994 in Japan, and the PS1 shortly followed. Despite its 8 processors, it was still underpowered compared to the PS1, and more expensive (plus it was meant for sprite-based games, not the rising 3D games). Then the N64 comes out a year and a half later. 64 bits compared to 32 bits, the fastest in the land (partially do to with cartridges), and far less complicated over the Saturn. Saturn won in space because of discs, but the 8 processors made development impractical. Sega also burned bridges with Camelot (Shining Force, later Golden Sun) and a smaller bridge with Treasure (Gunstar Heros, later SIN & PUNISHMENT, BABY), which caused both to leave for Nintendo.

Dreamcast comes out in late 1998. Its NOT a competitor to the PS1 or N64, nor the Xbox or Gamecube. The PS2 was its closest competition. It improved over the last generation, but it was also a mid-generation console. Problem, because the PS2 comes out. Its more powerful and can play movies. Dreamcast starts strong, but sadly falls off after the PS2 comes out. It was not after the 2 and a half year old console, it was trying to rebuild goodwill and try to get a share over the PS2.

Nintendo and Microsoft made their consoles, they beat PS2 in power, but DVD functionality isn't really a thing for Gamecube and a complication for the Xbox.

3 Sega has better music

There's not many valid points made in this comparison list, but dang, the music in their games slap. Obviously, they're not as iconic as the stuff Nintendo has, but does it really have to be?

Subjective opinions, both are great, but Nintendo is a bit better in my opinion. You can keep this one though.

This is actually true. The music in all Sonic games, even O6, rocks.

4 Sega has better TV shows

The original cartoon, Sonic ATM, X, Boom, and that new Sonic shows, vs The original Mario Cartoon for 1 + 2, Zelda, Mario 3, World, Pokemon anime, Donkey Kong Country show, Kirby Right back at ya, and the F-Zero anime. Battle of mid until the 21st century, but Nintendo had more variety since the start.

Yeah. Sega's Sonic Boom was an awesome T.V. series, but I've stopped watching it.

That's mostly true unless you count sonic X and sonic underground.

5 Sega doesn't ban fan made stuff the way Nintendo does

Again, ONLY focusing on Sonic bias shows. Anyways, in more recent times, the Persona/Shin Megami YouTube takedowns. In the early 2010's, Sega taking down the Streets of Rage 2 remake was huge, and thats a blatant dodge on your end. They both take things down, and both are inconsistent.

There have been a ton of fan made Nintendo games and videos that got banned because Nintendo is greedy selfish and doesn't care about their passionate fans. Sega never has taken down passion projects because they're better. If Sonic fans got their projects taken down, Sonic Mania and the Sonic Movies would not exist. It just comes to show that Nintendo has already lost.

6 Sega does what Nintendon't!

Yeah like not make you go through 8 different worlds to beat something or make a character That makes everyone want to sell all Nintendo games that they have like TOAD! Oh and also sonic has better cutscenes and harder levels and acually has better animations and better graphics.

Yes. The Sega franchise is so much better than Nintendo! The games are cooler, the graphics on the genesis were so cool and new to the 90's era, and Sega games are just so much more fun to play!

Sega makes rapid games like Sonic 1 and Streets of Rage in 1991. Here's something, we've found the death of Courageous Caitie this April, 2016 due to leukemia. If Nintendo makes that death penalty, I'll make them pay for JayJay and Feliz Lucas.

7 Sega worked with Capcom

So? Sega works with Capcom, and Capcom is good. Capcom works with Nintendo for games, and Capcom is still good. Sega makes games for Nintendo consoles, so Nintendo must be good too. Shocker.

Wait, whaaat? Sega making with Capcom? Could be a...
Sonic and Megaman crossover, or Mega Man: The Wily Wars, available for the Sega Genesis (Sega Channel in USA) in 1993.

Call it stupid all you want but Sonic & Mega Man comic are better than Mario and Sonic st the stupid Olympics games.

8 Sega is better with comics

Nintendo did manga, not really comics per-say. I like both, although Metroid in particular gets very serious at some points. Now my Sin & Punishment manga...

Archie Comics are amazing, even though I haven't read one yet.

9 Sega has better characters

I'd say their equal in this regard, but I hate both sides for this. You see, you all say how great your characters are, but if they aren't from Mario/Zelda/Kirby/Pokemon/Animal Crossing on the Nintendo side and Sonic/Monkey Ball/Yakuza/Hatsune Miku, I doubt that besides for the characters in Smash and Sega Kart, nobody on either side cares about their nicher characters, such as myself.

To be frank, Modern Amy Rose sucks as much as Princess Pooch Toiletstool. They are very similar to each other. One thing is that they have a slight amount of major, redeemable aspects such as they are actually strong.

10 Sega never lied about their hardware

Hey, I'm Saki Amamiya. As I am from Sin & Punishment, a Treasure series owned by Nintendo by a company that mainly worked for Sega during the Genesis days, I'm an unbiased source.

With that said, I have a couple of things to say. Yes, the original 3DS can run SNES and GBA games. But first off, as seen by GBA games, it *apperantly* has issues with sound. Weird, but whatever. And second off, they never promised anything about SNES games being on the original 3DS Virtual Console.

Anyways, Blast Processing.

Did you know? The old, original 3DS from 2011 is powerful enough to play Super Nintendo games, yet Nintendo lied and they are saying that only the New 3DS is powerful enough. The Gameboy Advance is powerful enough! The DS can play Gameboy Advance games! The 3DS can play DS games! The 3DS can successfully play the Super Mario World style in Mario Maker! Look at Star Fox, and Star Fox 64 3D! Look at the Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, and then look at A Link Between Worlds! Look at Super Mario World, and New Super Mario Bros. 2! Look at Super Mario Kart, and look at Mario Kart 7! They say that the old 3DS can't support 16 bit graphics, even though the system is 32-bit! It can support 32 bit graphics, 8 bit graphics, but not 16 bit? Lies! This unfortunately means that if you want to play Earthbound on the go, you will have to buy a New 3ds, or a New 2ds XL.

The Contenders
11 Sega games are not as childish

Mario games always seem to be directed at younger children, but games like SA1 or SA2 take on a slightly darker vibe, and are appealing to all ages. (We don't talk about 2005)

I definitely agree with this. The Mario games are very family friendly. Sonic on the other hand brings so much style and adventure!

Sega doesn't create lots of childish games (after Sonic and Knuckles) but they're awesome. I DON'T CARE!

12 Sega consoles have better controllers

I personally agree, because one time I was playing Ocarina of Time on the N64 and my thumb really started hurting after awhile.

13 Sega was the first to have a game saving feature
14 Sega has faster gameplay

This is why they made sonic. RIP alex kidd.

15 Sega worked with Platinum Games to create Bayonetta

Bayonetta was made by Platinum Games and Sega helped them, but do you think that Bayonetta II was made by Nintendo. Does Platinum knows it?

16 Sega games have better plots

At least Sega is creative but Nintendo just reuse the same plot but just try to hide it so we won't know. Two examples are Super Mario Galaxy and Hotel Mario. At least The Legend of Zelda and Kirby have different plots once and a while.

Mario: Oh no!
Me: wait wait, don't tell me... bowser has kidnapped peach?
Mario: Oh, A-wow, you must be a mind reader!

17 2nd millennium Sonic games are better than 2nd millennium Mario games

That how you add up. All 2d Sonic games are better then Mario 2d games but Mario have better 3d games than Sonic. So no more Mario vs Sonic crap. Even all of Sonic's game gear and Nintendo DS and 3DS and PSP games are better. Almost... all of sonic 2d games. Don't forget about Sonic Genesis and Sonic Chronicles.

P.S. this is true and if you don't like it, then why are you playing sonic games? Sonic Colors is great, Sonic Lost World is great too and even Sonic Boom is good. So yeah it is true. Sonic has better 2d games and Mario has better 3d games. All true. What about pac-man you say? He been ripping them both off in all of his 3d games. So... What do you think?

18 Sega worked with Namco

Sega did worked with both Namco and Capcom to create a game called Project X Zone. Looks pretty cool but said there was no Sonic or Pac-Man yet Mega Man X is in the game.

19 Sega has better variety in gameplay

The action games on the Sega Genesis- particularly Sonic games- had seemed controls. Much more emersive and intuitive than SNES games in my opinion.

I love Mario, but Nintendo is just rehashing all their old games. Sonic always has fresh gameplay every game.

Sega has special games since 1992 (I think), and Sonic 2 is an example.

20 Sega has a larger variety of valuable franchises

If Sega would die without Sonic, the same would happen to Nintendo if they lost Mario

21 Sega has better crossovers
22 Nintendo is red and Sega is blue. Blue is better than red

I 100% agree blue is better than red!

23 Sega has more unique characters
24 Sega isn’t money-hungry
25 Sega has better games

Sonic the hedgehog 2 has better zones and better stages , like Death Egg Zone , Mystic Cave Zone , better hud , better background , better themes and etc. ...

Sega makes up a sports game better than Nintendo. Using old characters with Sonic characters are awesome!

Dude no. Mario Bros 2 is better than Sonic 2
