Top Ten Reasons Why Swearing is Okay
I don't know why s*** is a swear, it's a synonym for poop. I ask my mom, "why is it a swear word?" and she just replies with "Because it's just bad." So, if it's just bad, would poop, feces, crap, and all the synonyms for poop would be swears. It's stupid how parents and adults want to protect children from swear words when they've heard many swear words.
This particular item really gets on my nerves. If they're "just words", then why are people protesting just to use them? For every swear word, there's a non-offensive word you can use instead. Are there any people in middle/high school who actually get that?
They really ARE just words, even though they have inappropriate and sometimes offensive meanings behind them, but that doesn't make anyone simply a bad person or a crazy person for just saying them.
I know right. Why do people get so worked up about some letters. If you say "duck" no one cares. But if you say the f word, everyone freaks out.
My Physics teacher once told me " We swear when we don't have enough words left to describe how we feel ; thereby displaying the level of our actual knowledge and education "
I had mixed feelings about it, haha!
The theory that swearing affects how intelligent you are is overrated. Knowing when to swear, and when not to swear can even show how intelligent you are.
If you do it too much it might make you sound unintelligent but not in moderation.
As long as swearing isn't used to be offensive I am totally fine with it.
I see something wrong with swearing 1. It's inappropriate 2. It's forbidden 3. It's mean 4. It makes people not want to be your friend 5. You would get in trouble
I don't see anything wrong with swearing, we all swear sometimes. We just need to observe and check how often we swear.
If they are just words, then they aren't any more impactful in an argument that any other words. Also, has there ever been an argument that was won by swearing? More likely, either the argument ended because the more mature person walked away (not a victory), or it ended up being a profanity shouting match.
Research has shown that mild, occasional swearing at the end of an argument can help bolster your case. But by no means should your argument sound like a Wiz Khalifa song or something.
Keeping calm and roasting others wins swearing hands down!
It's easier to show and emphasise your point with swearing.
If it doesn't kill or injure, it doesn't matter.
So you should follow them and swear? Someone murdered innocent people so you are going to kill people as well? Stupid!
I don't mind it, but if it's 90% of your vocabulary it just makes you sound unintelligent.
You can swear in real life a lot if you want. Everyone in my class swears too.
Many users do also
Not many people are afraid of swear words. Maybe they think people who swear a lot are childish.
People who hate should have to get used to it eventually because I know a lot of people swear.
Who "fears" it? You can express yourself without using ridiculous words!
I'm not scared of it. I'm just scared of getting in trouble for it.
When used properly, swearing can be used for emphasis in a conversation to help get your point across. If I were to tell my father, who does not like swearing, to "Stop talking! " he would most likely ignore me (aside from the fact that is disrespectful). If I said "Stop talking", it would grab his attention.
It's also not against the law to fart in a crowded elevator. Still a jerk move.
That doesn't mean you should.
Well it depends because if it was against police then it is illegal and then it's not okay
But if you swear in anger...It will just overshadow your valid points.
Tru because honesty is the best policy.
Equal rights advocates can't stop racists from being racist. Doesn't make racism okay.
But it's still bad. And overrated.
You may not notice as they tend to hide their feelings, but it can.
Of course. Swearing doesn't make people cry or cut people, does it? But swearing too much can be annoying. You can swear as long as you use an appropriate amount.
Swear words offends people. You can cure a cut with band aid, but you can't cure a mental cut that easily.
True, but maybe people could learn to control their anger?
Words can hurt someone just as much.
