Top Ten Reasons Why You Shouldn't Allow Third-Party Advertising On TheTopTens

Third party advertising is basically the ads that appear on the screen. I used to allow them but there were some reasons why I decided to stop.

The Top Ten

1 The ads slow down the page

I had trouble scrolling and seeing items on lists because the ads slow the page down. Turning it off seems to solve this issue. - NuMetalManiak

2 The video ads may come with sound

While the sound doesn't play right off the bat, it sure is surprising for one to be browsing casually only to hear a noise coming from nowhere. Usually the ads in question play the sound upon a mouse rollover or something. - NuMetalManiak

This isn't so much of a big issue here (mind you, I've blocked the ads), but it ruined various online streaming services for me. - PositronWildhawk

3 The ads hold nothing of interest
4 Page loading times are faster with third-party advertising turned off

Not just the page itself slows down with ads on, but trying to load a page with ads on also slows it down. - NuMetalManiak

5 Pages look cleaner without the ads nearby
6 No need to use Adblock Plus or any ad-blocking extensions/plug-ins

I have ABP but I turn it off for this site, because of the option to turn off the advertising on the account. Saves some trouble for me. - NuMetalManiak
