The Alexandrov Ensemble or more commonly known as the Red Army Choir has covered patriotic or folk songs since its inception and has entertained many in both Russia and throughout the world. They have done so with such vigor and spirit while performing. OUR list will cover songs from the Red Army Choir which I thought were magnificent.Of course, this list is not complete without mentioning the Soviet anthem. Very energetic and rousing for a national anthem where all could easily sing together. I'm glad that they restored this with new lyrics as our current national anthem.
In my opinion, the best National Anthem and this is coming from a American and someone who doesn't like or agree with communism at all.
This song with all of its aggressive and intense vocals would be able to strike fear into any enemy's heart upon facing the Red Army. No wonder millions of my Soviet countrymen took arms and died for their country in WWII.
Quite cheery and folk-sounding as it is played with a bayan which helped cement those feelings. Moreover, this song tells a story about a girl named Katyusha singing a song promising to stay faithful to her lover as well as serving the motherland. Truly emotional like most songs in this list.
A strong and passionate song that raises morale like no other; this easily proves that the Red Army is indeed the strongest military in history. The Red Army Choir did very well in this one.
This song makes me cry.
The vocals initially sounded like a group of downtrodden men singing which really helped reaffirmed the notion that it was a song of the oppressed willing to take arms against those who stand in the way of freedom and fair labor. And it gets even better when the vocals became more dynamic and vehement.
