Top Ten Rock Bands that Get the Most Annoying Praise

These are bands that have gotten way more praise than they need.
The Top Ten
1 Linkin Park Linkin Park is an American alternative rock band formed in Agoura Hills, California, in 1996. The current members include Mike Shinoda (vocals, keyboards, rhythm guitar), Brad Delson (guitar), Dave "Phoenix" Farrell (bass), Joe Hahn (DJ), and Rob Bourdon (drums). Sludgy unlistenable music, annoying vocals and cruddy rapping make this one band whose constant praise completely escapes me.

The first album wasn't that bad, it was actually good. But the rest are just unlistenable and torture.

I'm tired of seeing Linkin Park at the top (or somewhere near it) on almost every single best rock band lists.
I think that they're a good band, but certainly not the greatest.

2 Nirvana Nirvana was an American grunge band that was formed in Aberdeen, Washington in 1987. Nirvana disbanded after Kurt Cobain committed suicide in 1994. The drummer of the band, David Grohl, went on to start the Foo-Fighters, an alternative rock band.

The band was comprised of Kurt Cobain (Vocals, Guitar), Dave Grohl (Drums) and Krist Novoselic (Bass). ...read more.

They made Smells Like Teen Spirit the most overrated song of all time and they are called the greatest band ever just for that one song

They are literally called the greatest band ever for just one song

I think Nirvana should be in the top 3, top 5 at least.

That's a fact...And the reason? One song.

3 AC/DC AC/DC are a Australian hard rock band, formed in November 1973 by brothers Malcolm and Angus Young, who continued as members until Malcolm's illness and departure in 2014 . They were fronted by Bon Scott until his untimely death due to alcohol poisoning in 1979, after which they hired Brian Johnson to front the band. Commonly referred to as a hard rock or blues rock band.

For example - Highway to Hell has been called one of the greatest riffs of all time. But no one ever noticed All Right Now of Free's. both of these riffs sound very similar. Then why one should always get the praise while other one is totally unnoticed.

I don't really understand what it's so good about AC/DC in my personal opinion all of their songs are kind of the same. But isn't neither a bad music artists, only being take too overpowered by the fanbase it's simply annoying.

4 Evanescence Evanescence is an American alternative rock/alternative metal band. It was founded in Little Rock, Arkansas, in 1995 by singer/pianist Amy Lee and guitarist Ben Moody.

I really hate this band, It's so overrated for one song, It's really so annoying - " I love Amy! " " Bring me to life is the best song ever! "

I wish Bring me To Life wasn't so overdone.

For literally one song.

5 Foo Fighters Foo Fighters are an American alternative rock band, formed in Seattle in 1994. The band was founded by Nirvana drummer Dave Grohl after the death of Kurt Cobain and the dissolution of his previous band. The band consists of Dave Grohl (lead vocalist, rhythm guitar, main songwriter), Pat Smear (rhythm guitar), Nate Mendel (bass), Taylor Hawkins (drums, backing vocals), Chris Shiflett (lead guitar, backing vocals) and the most recent addition, Rami Jaffee (keyboards). Former members include William Goldsmith (drummer) and Franz Stahl (guitarist). ...read more.

Alright mainstream rock music, but nowhere near as good as many people would claim.

Seriously they are so praised, they are more overrated than Nirvana.

I so much agree with this.

6 Nickelback Nickelback is a Canadian post-grunge band formed in 1995 in Hanna, Alberta, Canada. The band is composed of guitarist and lead vocalist Chad Kroeger, guitarist, keyboardist and backing vocalist Ryan Peake, bassist Mike Kroeger, and drummer Daniel Adair.

Yes, fight me. Nickelback is on here for the amount of praise they are getting lately, just because of the amount of hate you are seeing (which is a lot slimmer than the amount of praise in reality) pisses you off.

"I'm so special because I like Nickelback, only individuals with own thoughts are able to perform such rebelliousness."

They get too much hate to be honest a lot of the hate they get is not deserved.

What praise? I thought they were one of the most hated bands in recent memory.

7 Creed Creed is an American post-grunge band, formed in 1993 in Tallahassee, Florida. The band's best-known line-up consisted of lead vocalist Scott Stapp, guitarist and vocalist Mark Tremonti, bassist Brian Marshall, and drummer Scott Phillips.

Sorry, but Scott Stapp sucks as a vocalist. He's the only member of Creed I don't want to listen to over and over again. Alter Bridge was way better anyways as the former Creed members showcased more creativity in their musicianship than they did in Creed.

8 The Beatles The Beatles were an English pop rock band formed in Liverpool in 1960. The members consisted of John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr. They were soon known as the foremost and most influential act of rock era. Formed in 1976, the group consists of Bono, the Edge, Adam Clayton, and Larry Mullen Jr. U2's early sound was rooted in post-punk but eventually grew to incorporate influences from many genres of popular music. Throughout the group's musical pursuits, they have maintained a sound built on melodic instrumentals. Their lyrics, often embellished with spiritual imagery, focus on personal themes and sociopolitical concerns.

This band doesn't get that much of praises. Bono is on top of "Worst Rock Voices" list. I don't think it's a praise.

They get a lot of hate too.

10 Pantera Pantera was an American heavy metal band formed in 1981 by guitarist Dimebag Darrell and drummer Vinnie Paul. The band started out as a glam metal act in the 1980s with little success. I'm starting to see Pantera on TheTopTens more often than I am seeing X-Japan, and that was a LONG time ago when X-Japan was literally on the tops of music lists on this site and that was annoying. Seriously, stop making Pantera the next X-Japan.

The Contenders

12 Led Zeppelin Led Zeppelin was an English hard rock band formed in London in 1968 as the New Yardbirds. The group consisted of Robert Plant (Vocal), Jimmy Page (Guitar), John Paul Jones (Bass, Keyboard) and John Bonham (Drums) and was very much the child of Jimmy Page who even financed their first tour. He had tasted some previous success with The [original] Yardbirds and was friendly with some big names in rock. Page states it was Keith Moon of The Who that claimed the band could only go down, like a lead balloon -- thus prompting the iconic name of Led Zeppelin. The band's heavy, guitar-driven sound, rooted in blues and psychedelia on their early albums, has earned them recognition as one of the progenitors ...read more.

Like Jimmy Page has been stated one of the fastest guitarists.

13 Radiohead Radiohead are an English rock band from Abingdon, Oxfordshire, formed in 1985. The band consists of Thom Yorke (lead vocals, guitar, piano, keyboards), Jonny Greenwood (lead guitar, keyboards, other instruments), Colin Greenwoood (bass guitar), Phil Selway (drums), and Ed O'Brien (guitar).

A case where the overhyping ruins the band. On their own, they're perfectly fine but due to the endless overpraising by both critics and fans, it has become nearly impossible to listen to this band without all the baggage of how you either must love them or don't appreciate real music or something like that.

14 Ghost Ghost is a Swedish heavy metal band that was formed in Linköping in 2008. The band consists of five masked instrumentalists known as the Nameless Ghouls, and a demonic anti-pope known as Papa Emeritus. They have released four studio albums, one live album, and two EPs. CjWriter1997, I am glad we are on the same page again - I hate the Grammys, too. Especially the Metal Grammys - they have been a disgrace to metal for 30 years. Metal community and metal musicians should withdraw metal category from the Grammys asap. Metal Grammys only give metal a bad name - Ghost song was presented as the best of metal released in 2015 when it's not. I even made a list about it long ago - Top 10 Proofs Metal Grammy Awards Are Untrustworthy and Misleading.

Back to my opinion about Ghost: their Metal Grammy isn't the only sign they are annoyingly overpraised though.

One of the most generic metal bands I have ever heard. And poppy as hell. Overpraised for nothing.
