I recently became a "Maggot" (A term to describe a Slipknot fan) and to be honest, Slipknot is one talented and versatile band.

Their type of Metal can be debatable, although they're typically labelled Nu Metal. However, some songs, such as "Sarcastrophe" and "The Heretic Anthem" have elements of Death Metal put into it to surprisingly great effect, others like "Psychosocial" and "Sulfer" are great regular metal headbangers, "Gematria" and "Skeptic" have a Thrash Metal feel and songs such as "Wait and Bleed" and "Duality" are Nu Metal masterpieces.

All of these feats and experimentation on different Metal genres have led to Slipknot becoming one of my all-time favorite bands. And yes, I'll never understand the biased hate the band gets.
