Top 10 Rock Bands With the Best Distortion

Distortion in Rock Music, usually has guitar riffs that sound distorted and very loud they're generally pretty fast and common in: Grunge music, post- grunge music, nu metal, pop punk (Sometimes), thrash metal (Very often), and I think (Symphonic Metal) maybe there's more but it's a very common guitar technique. 2 Melvins The Melvins are an American sludge metal band that formed in 1983 in Montesano, Washington. They usually perform as a trio, but in recent years have performed as a four piece with two drummers.

Regardless if they're grunge or not, they have some great distorted guitar riffs.

3 Korn Korn is an American nu-metal band from Bakersfield, California, formed in 1993. The band's current lineup includes founding members Jonathan Davis, James "Munky" Shaffer, Brian "Head" Welch, and Reginald "Fieldy" Arvizu, with the addition of Ray Luzier, who replaced the band's original member, David Silveria in 2007. I know it's a bit cliche, but Korn has some pretty decent distorted riffs.

4 Static-X Static-X formed in Los Angeles in 1994. The band had many lineup changes, but the main vocalist and guitarist throughout has been frontman Wayne Static. Other well-known members of Static-X include Tony Campos (bassist), Ken Jay (drummer), and Koichi Fukuda (guitarist). The final lineup of Static-X did not include any of these people, instead there was Ashes (guitarist), Andy Cole (bassists), and Sean Davidson (percussion).

The band, which was founded in 1988, consists of Chino Moreno, Stephen Carpenter, Frank Delgado, Abe Cunningham and Sergio Vega. They have released a total of 9 studio albums. Some of their most popular songs are Change (in the House of the Flies), Passenger, Bored, Minerva, Rocket Skates, Back to School (Mini Maggit), Beauty School, Diamond Eyes, Hole in the Earth, Mein, Digital Bath, and etc.

6 Nirvana Nirvana was an American grunge band that was formed in Aberdeen, Washington in 1987. Nirvana disbanded after Kurt Cobain committed suicide in 1994. The drummer of the band, David Grohl, went on to start the Foo-Fighters, an alternative rock band.

Songs like Outshined, Jesus Christ Pose, and etc. have decent guitar distortion.

I know I'll probably get flack for this, but Seether has good distorted riffs considering how their music is heavily influenced by Nirvana.

10 Pixies The Pixies are an American alternative rock band formed in 1986 in Boston, Massachusetts. The group disbanded in 1993 in acrimonious circumstances, but reunited in 2004. The group currently consists of founders Black Francis, Joey Santiago, and David Lovering.

Haven't heard a lot of their songs but they have decent distortion.
