My Chemical Romance? seriously? sure, their music is catchy, but a few emo kids singing about depression and sadness can barely hold a candle to the band that is King Crimson. The beginning of the progressive rock genre started here. Court of the Crimson King is seen as an album you must listen to before you die, with amazing the songs; Epitaph, 21st Century Schizoid man, I Talk to the Wind, Moonchild, and of course in the Court of the Crimson King. Bassist Greg Lakes amazing vocals paired with Peter Sinfields lyricism and synthesizer, Michael Giles Drumming, and Ian McDonalds Saxophone, is just an amazing combination that can only be described as an experience. Listening to King Crimson I think about how this is where rock as a genre started to change into a pure form of art. compared to that, I do not think My Chemical Romance even remotely deserves that top spot.
