They keep on saying that they are the saviors of metal when they aren't metal and they didn't save anything Pantera is the real savior of metal plus they are a Mediocre band that for some reason is called one of the best bands of all time which is false - christangrant

Forget Radiohead and their fanbase, people think that this band is infallible and are gods among music. If anything, their most acclaimed album isn't even what it's described as. Also, if Pet Sounds never existed, they would just be a boy band, and nothing else. - SwagFlicks

3 Nirvana Nirvana Nirvana was an American grunge band that was formed in Aberdeen, Washington in 1987. Nirvana disbanded after Kurt Cobain committed suicide in 1994. The drummer of the band, David Grohl, went on to start the Foo-Fighters, an alternative rock band. more.

This band is way overrated in the genre, but their music is at least decent, unlike some other bands in the genre (ahem ahem coldplay, ahem ahem)

Agree, they think Nirvana is the only grunge band...

I love nirvana but I agree that the fans can be pretty salty sometimes

Worst fanbase ever! They think Nirvana is the only good grunge band and they don’t care about other grunge bands. - Userguy44

Indeed. Now whatever merits the band may have (which I would argue that they have a lot), their fanbase takes those merits are blows them out of proportion, heavily overpraising any new release by them as if it were the second coming. - Mrveteran

While I agree that the fanbase of this band is pretty bad for the most part, it really shouldn't detract from their positives, which they do have a lot of. - SwagFlicks

Oh my the amount of overpraise this band gets from its fans is insane they are a descent band but not the greatest band ever like some say - christangrant

5 Led Zeppelin Led Zeppelin Led Zeppelin was an English rock band formed in London in 1968. I'm surprised Led Zeppelin are too low, #20. I expected to see them in the top 3 to be honest. A comment by a Led Zeppelin fan on this site: "If Stairway to Heaven isn't everyone's favorite song then it's severely underrated." - Metal_Treasure

Literally enjoy attacking everyone who call lz #2 or less - AlphaQ

They treat Chester like the Messiah and that he was a God amongst men, he was a good vocalist but not best of all time material. The fanbase acts like their lyrics are so deep but they really aren't and are not that hard to understand. The fanbase also will tear you to shreds if you think that the band isn't that good or is overrated.

They call them the greatest ever and call them rock. - Userguy44

When a Megadeth fan says he is a Megadeth fan and likes a Metallica song Metallica fans say: Of course, you can like both.

When a Metallica fan says he is a Metallica fan and likes a Megadeth song Megadeth fans say: Well, we're glad there is at least one good song you like. But did you know Dave Mustaine wrote all of your favorite band's songs? - Alkadikce

I love Megadeth. But some fans will do anything to put down Metallica.

What Megadeth fans do?

They trolling all over the internet on Metallica forums, and they only cryin' about Metallica are sellouts, but Megadeth were always faithful to their roots. Annoying.

They attack you when you say Dave Mustaine isn’t a good singer. - Userguy44

F off.

14 Imagine Dragons Imagine Dragons Imagine Dragons is an American pop rock band from Las Vegas, Nevada. Imagine Dragons' lineup consists of lead vocalist Dan Reynolds, guitarist Wayne Sermon, bassist Ben McKee, and drummer Daniel Platzman.

Actually Imagine Dragon is alternative pop. And alternative pop is a combined genre alternative rock and pop. They even played some solos. It's their excessive use of pop style that made them look like pop. But they have rock style too. - zxm

Same as Twenty One Pilots they are a bad band that people call "Rock" - christangrant

They aren't alt rock they are Pop and you just proved why I hate this fanbase - christangrant

I started out as an imagine dragon fan. they might not make the best music, but the fanbase is pretty good. they don't obbess over the artist,or try to shove their taste down others throats.

At least 70% of the Marilyn Manson fans I’ve encountered will hate you and most likely send you death threats if you even say you don’t like him or his band. - 3DG20

If you say you hate Manson, you’re labeled a bible thumper and a triggered right wing bitch. At least that’s what happened to me when I said I prefer other acts. - ReturnOfScorpio

23 Faith No More Faith No More Faith No More is an American rock band from San Francisco, California, formed in 1979. Before settling on their current moniker in 1983, the band performed under the names Sharp Young Men and later Faith No Man.

Granted this band has been irrelevant for the last 20+ years but I consider their fans to be one of the worst, specifically online. In any of their popular videos from what I've seen their fans view them as the greatest band that ever lived, despite them having only one hit song (although I'm sure there are songs that many of their fans know that are "popular"). And don't get me started on their lead singer, because they view him like a god and that he's the greatest singer to ever live since he had one of the highest vocal ranges. Also if you try to say that this band isn't that good you will be bombarded with fans saying how your opinion is wrong or any profanity that makes them sound like little kids. And come to think of it I feel like their fans consist of people in their mid 50s that live in a basement and have nothing to do with their lives. - polofan

All of them hate RHCP. - Userguy44

Granted this band is irrelevant and has been for the last 20+ years but the fanbase is probably one of the worst I've seen, specifically online. There are people that think that they're the greatest band of all time and worship their singer like a god. Also there happen to be elitists that say that they only listen to their music and trash talk any rock bands that became more popular than them. And if you give an opinion saying that this band sucks will result in fans trash talking you and saying you are complete idiot.

I personally have a huge dislike towards them, specifically their lead singer who looks and sounds like a douchebag, and just looking or saying the name leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

24 Pink Floyd Pink Floyd Pink Floyd was an English progressive rock band formed in 1965 in London, England. They achieved international acclaim with their progressive and psychedelic music. The band consisted of 5 members - David Gilmour (Vocals and Guitar), Syd Barrett (Vocals and Guitar), Nick Mason (Drums), Roger Waters more.

I love Pink Floyd, but the fanbase is super oversensitive, and apparently just liking one band better than them means you apparently have bad music taste. - XxembermasterxX

I don't think their fanbase is so bad. Can't compare with the fanbases of Led Zeppelin, the Beatles, Nirvana, A7X, Black Sabbath, Megadeth, Bob Dylan, and many more. - Metal_Treasure

That’s sad. Why does a great band have such fans like that? - Userguy44

By far the worst, most obnoxiously pretentious fanbase of wrong-generationing 14 y.o's out there. Avoid at all costs.

25 Cannibal Corpse Cannibal Corpse Cannibal Corpse is a American death metal band from Buffalo, New York, formed in 1988. 26 Metallica Metallica Metallica is an American Thrash Metal band formed in 1981 . The original lineup was James Hetfield (Vocalist and Rhythm guitarist), Dave Mustaine (Lead Guitar), Lars Ulrich (Drums), Ron McGovney (Bassist). The group came into mainstream from their Self-Titled album and the hit single "Enter Sandman". more.

Those who say thrash metal is the most complex metal genre and metallica is the most talented/complex band, need to listen more metal songs. Thrash metal is nowhere near genres like neoclassical metal, prog metal or heavy metal. Some people even say thrash metal is the god of metal only because of metallica. Won't admit Lars Ulrich can't beat drums. - zxm

Some fans threatened to shoot Lou Reed for the LuLu album. Really shows the maturity.

But that is irrelevant since that's only a select few and that doesn't mean every Metallica fan is like that plus that happened years ago. - christangrant

Me, bad? Oh... OK, I am bad. - Metal_Treasure

27 AC/DC AC/DC AC/DC are a Australian hard rock band, formed in November 1973 by brothers Malcolm and Angus Young, who continued as members until Malcolm's illness and departure in 2014 . Their original name was Groundswell until they changed it to their current name in 1997. more.

As much as I love this band, a lot of the fans assume that anyone who doesn’t like them is automatically a Justin Bieber fan and therefore will threaten them if they even say they don’t like them. I also hate how half of the people that claim to be Three Days Grace fans give Adam all of the credit and treat the other 3 as if they don’t do anything. I’ve even seen people talking about killing Adam’s wife all because he married her and not them. What a great fanbase this is. - 3DG20

Their second studio album, American Tragedy, was released April 5, 2011. All of more.

No idea how they weren’t on the list. Every single Hollywood Undead fan I’ve encountered act like they’re the greatest thing ever, and god forbid anyone who doesn’t agree with them because these edgy little 12 year olds will throw a fit if you’re one of those people. I have yet to find a Hollywood Undead fan who can respect opinions, and on top of having one of the worst, if not the worst fanbase in rock, the band itself is almost as bad as Limp Bizkit, and both of which are perfect examples of how not to do rap rock. - 3DG20
