Rock Bands with the Worst Fanbases

The Top Ten
1 The Beatles The Beatles were an English pop rock band formed in Liverpool in 1960. The members consisted of John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr. They were soon known as the foremost and most influential act of rock era. Rooted in skiffle, beat, and 1950s rock and roll, the Beatles later experimented with several genres, ranging from pop ballads and Indian music to psychedelia and hard rock, often incorporating classical elements in innovative ways. ...read more.

Forget Radiohead and their fanbase, people think that this band is infallible and are gods among music. If anything, their most acclaimed album isn't even what it's described as. Also, if Pet Sounds never existed, they would just be a boy band, and nothing else.

Forget every fanbase, some Beatles fans even trying to assault George Harrison.

2 Led Zeppelin Led Zeppelin was an English hard rock band formed in London in 1968 as the New Yardbirds. The group consisted of Robert Plant (Vocal), Jimmy Page (Guitar), John Paul Jones (Bass, Keyboard) and John Bonham (Drums) and was very much the child of Jimmy Page who even financed their first tour. He had tasted some previous success with The [original] Yardbirds and was friendly with some big names in rock. Page states it was Keith Moon of The Who that claimed the band could only go down, like a lead balloon -- thus prompting the iconic name of Led Zeppelin. The band's heavy, guitar-driven sound, rooted in blues and psychedelia on their early albums, has earned them recognition as one of the progenitors ...read more.

I'm surprised Led Zeppelin are too low, #20. I expected to see them in the top 3 to be honest. A comment by a Led Zeppelin fan on this site: "If Stairway to Heaven isn't everyone's favorite song then it's severely underrated."

3 Avenged Sevenfold Avenged Sevenfold is an American heavy metal band, that was formed 1999 in California. Their longest lineup of members was M. Shadows (Vocals), Synyster Gates (Lead Guitar), Zacky Vengeance (Rhythm Guitar), Johnny Christ (Bass Guitar), and The Rev (Drums).

Jimmy "The Rev" Sullivan (Drums), their most notable drummer, passed away in 2009, being temporarily replaced by Mike Portnoy, who was replaced by Arin Ilejay, who was finally replaced with Brooks Wackerman. A common phrase for fans "foREVer" was created after the Rev's death in his remembrance. ...read more.

They keep on saying that they are the saviors of metal when they aren't metal and they didn't save anything Pantera is the real savior of metal plus they are a Mediocre band that for some reason is called one of the best bands of all time which is false

Yes, I agree. I am the prime example of it.

4 Nirvana Nirvana was an American grunge band that was formed in Aberdeen, Washington in 1987. Nirvana disbanded after Kurt Cobain committed suicide in 1994. The drummer of the band, David Grohl, went on to start the Foo-Fighters, an alternative rock band.

Keep in mind I don't hate this band in fact they are a good band however whenever I state my opinion that AIC is the best grunge band I always get comments from Nirvana fans saying I am wrong and that I'm a moron for thinking that AIC is better and even worse the fans (mainly the posers) think that Nirvana invented grunge which is wrong on so many levels first of all they weren't even the first band in the grunge 4 to release a studio or Ep release the first was Screaming Life by Soundgarden and that was in 1987 in that mean time Soundgarden also released Fopp and a full studio album Ultramega Ok in 1988 which was before the release of Bleach in 1989 and second the band that invented grunge was Green River with there Come On Down (EP) which came out in 1985.

This band is way overrated in the genre, but their music is at least decent, unlike some other bands in the genre (ahem ahem coldplay, ahem ahem)

I love nirvana but I agree that the fans can be pretty salty sometimes

Agree, they think Nirvana is the only grunge band...

They treat Chester like the Messiah and that he was a God amongst men, he was a good vocalist but not best of all time material. The fanbase acts like their lyrics are so deep but they really aren't and are not that hard to understand. The fanbase also will tear you to shreds if you think that the band isn't that good or is overrated.

7 Megadeth Megadeth is an American thrash metal band from Los Angeles, California. Megadeth was formed in 1983 by guitarist Dave Mustaine and bassist David Ellefson, shortly after Mustaine was fired from Metallica. They have released 15 studio albums to date, and have gone through many lineup changes, with Dave Mustaine being the sole constant member.

They released their debut album “Killing Is My Business...And Business Is Good!” in 1985, but became successful after the release of “Peace Sells...But Who’s Buying?” in 1986. ...read more.

Listen. Megadeth fanbase might be a bit of a Metallica haterbase, but so is EVERY thrash band's fanbase, save for Metallica themselves. Every single thrash fan, not only Megadeth fan, is constantly ranting about how overrated and "gay" Metallica is, while the bands they claim to like are often very similar to Metallica (eg Testament, Xentrix).

It gets extremely boring after a while, because these Metallica haters present themselves as prophets of an unknown fact, while they are preaching the popular opinion. You can't mention Metallica in the slightest way, otherwise you get an inevitable reply about how much Metallica sucks and which 100 bands whip the floor with them.

The Megadeth fanbase consists of people bashing on anyone/whining about (mostly Metallica and Slayer fans) who prefers another Thrash band over Megadeth, I mean they are good band but not the best I prefer Metallica and Slayer, got a problem with that? then deal with it. This fanbase is what gives Thrash Metal's fanbase a bad name (possibly Slayer's as well but I'm not as annoyed by them)

What Megadeth fans do?

They trolling all over the internet on Metallica forums, and they only cryin' about Metallica are sellouts, but Megadeth were always faithful to their roots. Annoying.

I love Megadeth. But some fans will do anything to put down Metallica.

8 Radiohead Radiohead are an English rock band from Abingdon, Oxfordshire, formed in 1985. The band consists of Thom Yorke (lead vocals, guitar, piano, keyboards), Jonny Greenwood (lead guitar, keyboards, other instruments), Colin Greenwoood (bass guitar), Phil Selway (drums), and Ed O'Brien (guitar).

Indeed. Now whatever merits the band may have (which I would argue that they have a lot), their fanbase takes those merits are blows them out of proportion, heavily overpraising any new release by them as if it were the second coming.

While I agree that the fanbase of this band is pretty bad for the most part, it really shouldn't detract from their positives, which they do have a lot of.

Oh my the amount of overpraise this band gets from its fans is insane they are a descent band but not the greatest band ever like some say

Highest comment-in-full-caps/second rate. Just go to the list Best Rock Bands of All Time and look at the comments.

9 Bullet for my Valentine Bullet for My Valentine are a Welsh metalcore band from Bridgend, formed in 1998. Jeff Killed John recorded six songs which were not released; two of these tracks were reworked later in their career as Bullet for My Valentine. If this is considered a rock band then I hate their fan base because they keep saying how they are the greatest band ever whent they are a bad band and the fact people call them "Rock" is sad

The Contenders
11 Tool Tool is an American alternative metal/progressive metal band, that was formed in 1990. The band is set together between Maynard James Keenan (Vocals), Danny Carey (Drums), Adam Jones (Guitar) and since 1995 Justin Chancellor (Bass). The band is known for their influences from electronic sounds and their overly complex and strangely structured songs. They released their debut album "Undertow" in 1993 and later put out other famous albums, like "Lateralus" and "10,000 Days". The band has established a legacy as one of the most well-known and beloved progressive metal and alternative metal bands of all time.

You're not allowed to say a bad word about them and when you do their fans tell you that you have no taste! It's really annoying! It says it all if even the band themselves don't even like the fans that have made them what they are!

12 Fall Out Boy Fall Out Boy is an American pop punk band formed in Wilmette, Illinois, a suburb of Chicago, in 2001. The band consists of vocalist and guitarist Patrick Stump, bassist Pete Wentz, guitarist Joe Trohman, and drummer Andy Hurley.

Rolling Stone named "Radioactive", which holds the record for most weeks charted on the Billboard Hot 100, the "biggest rock hit of the year".

Actually Imagine Dragon is alternative pop. And alternative pop is a combined genre alternative rock and pop. They even played some solos. It's their excessive use of pop style that made them look like pop. But they have rock style too.

Same as Twenty One Pilots they are a bad band that people call "Rock"

14 5 Seconds of Summer 5 Seconds of Summer are an Australian pop-rock band from Sydney, Australia, that formed in 2011. It gets even worse when some people (both fans and non-fans) think they are a metal band. They are nowhere near metal.

If there is anyone who likes this awful abomination known as a"band" then they are a really bad fan base

Those who say thrash metal is the most complex metal genre and metallica is the most talented/complex band, need to listen more metal songs. Thrash metal is nowhere near genres like neoclassical metal, prog metal or heavy metal. Some people even say thrash metal is the god of metal only because of metallica. Won't admit Lars Ulrich can't beat drums.

Some fans threatened to shoot Lou Reed for the LuLu album. Really shows the maturity.

Granted this band has been irrelevant for the last 20+ years but I consider their fans to be one of the worst, specifically online. In any of their popular videos from what I've seen their fans view them as the greatest band that ever lived, despite them having only one hit song (although I'm sure there are songs that many of their fans know that are "popular"). And don't get me started on their lead singer, because they view him like a god and that he's the greatest singer to ever live since he had one of the highest vocal ranges. Also if you try to say that this band isn't that good you will be bombarded with fans saying how your opinion is wrong or any profanity that makes them sound like little kids. And come to think of it I feel like their fans consist of people in their mid 50s that live in a basement and have nothing to do with their lives.

Granted this band is irrelevant and has been for the last 20+ years but the fanbase is probably one of the worst I've seen, specifically online. There are people that think that they're the greatest band of all time and worship their singer like a god. Also there happen to be elitists that say that they only listen to their music and trash talk any rock bands that became more popular than them. And if you give an opinion saying that this band sucks will result in fans trash talking you and saying you are complete idiot.

I personally have a huge dislike towards them, specifically their lead singer who looks and sounds like a douchebag, and just looking or saying the name leaves a bad taste in my mouth.
