221 Primus Primus Primus is an American rock band based in San Francisco, California, currently composed of bassist Les Claypool, guitarist Larry LaLonde and drummer Tim Alexander. Les Claypool is regarded as one of the best bassists of all time for his slap-bass ability in notable songs like "My Name Is Mud", "The Toys ...read more.

Primus has the best bassist in the universe, and all of the songs are awesome! Anybody who tries to beat Primus at being awesome will fail. Primus Sucks!

Primus deserves better than 139th place. Primus deserves to be in at least the top 50. Les Claypool auditioned to join Metallica once after the original bassist had died, and he didn't make it because he was too good.

Heh, it's a pity that not in first 100, but still good that in first 300

Best bassist ever, but he's practically the whole band.

222 Meat Loaf Meat Loaf Michael Lee Aday is an American musician, singer, songwriter, record producer and actor usually known by his stage name Meat Loaf.

THIS is a rock band...Michael Aday's vocal performations are brilliant and Jim Steinman's songs are masterpieces, like the entire Bat out of Hell saga or Couldn't Have Said It Better...Even its greatness and to have one of the most sold albums of all time, it isn't recognized as it deserve, but with songs like Bat out of Hell, I'd Do Anything for Love or Bad for Good (with Brian May) they're at least one of the best bands ever

Meat Loaf?! You kidding me? Meat Loaf was a heavy metal band that didn't sing heavy metal. I mean what kind of song is I'll Do Anything For Love But I Won't Do That? Clearly he'll do anything for love because he disgraced metal and took a dump on some loose-leaf paper and put a slow tune to it. But I guess that's just the eighties. Metal bands in the eighties (excluding the actual good bands like Sabbath, Maiden, Metallica, Megadeth, Dio, Slayer, and Anthrax) had to have at least 3 crappy slow

Meat Loaf at 100 no way he should be in the top 4 With amazing Songs like Bat out of Hell Paradise by the Dashboard Light and Seize the Night - Greenday

I accidentally tapped the vote button while scrolling down on my ipod.

223 Electric Light Orchestra Electric Light Orchestra The Electric Light Orchestra are an English rock band from Birmingham. They were formed in 1970 by songwriters/multi-instrumentalists Roy Wood and Jeff Lynne with drummer Bev Bevan.

It will always be a matter of taste finally but I know that when you mention elo to most people all they've heard, if even, is Mr. Blue Sky which is a limited example of the range and versatility of the band, especially Jeff Lynne as a composer. Check out such concept albums as 'Time' and 'Secret Messages' for creative, catchy tunes and innovative (for the time) synthesis of exciting sounds. I don't think most people (and certainly myself) have the time (perhaps) or facility to give all the good bands a fair hearing and so much of the great music that doesn't get 'airing' on radio or through the usual commercial outlets never reaches our ears or hearts.

ELO is very much underrated, probably one of the best bands ever. Check out their albums, some great songs from early til the end. Jell Lynne is a genius. This is a band that more people need to know about! - ansley

ELO have many wonderful songs, with great vocals and arrangements. Jeff Lynne has a incredible talent as composer. In my song collection, ELO it's the second band, after Beatles, in number of songs. Jeff Lynne start in Move at 60s and release the excelent Zoom at 2001 as ELO.

One of the best bands from the 70s deserves higher than 374. Put them around 75 to 100

224 UFO UFO UFO are an English rock band that was formed in 1969. They became a transitional group between early hard rock and heavy metal and the new wave of British heavy metal.

my youth!

310... Sadness.

This british band to me was better than Zep or the Who! Their hard rock sound was original and melodic without being
Wimpy like Journey or Styx etc... Albums Lights Out, Obsession, Force It and the brilliant Live album Strangers in the
Night is one of the best Live albums of all time. Their later albums like No Place to Run and Wild Willing and Innocent
Were also great even though guitarist Shenker had left. The bands newest albums also continue the hard rock melodic
Sound that most bands can't even come close! Vinnie Moore was a good replacement and has held his own. I've seen
Them numerous times from early 75 to 2009 and they still can rock any new band out! Should be in the RHOF!

226 Bush Bush Bush are a British rock band formed in London, England in 1992. The band found their immediate success with the release of their debut album Sixteen Stone in 1994, which is certified 6× multi-platinum by the RIAA.

Bush deserves better than 361 they are a very important part of 90s music.

Not the best band, but had lots of decent stuff, should probably be higher - mtndewlord

WHY IS THIS IN 246? This band should be in the top 20. They were awesome in the 90's.

Bush is very solid. Should definitely be higher than this.

233 Dir en grey Dir en grey DIR EN GREY is a Japanese metal band formed in 1997 and currently signed to Firewall Div., a sub-division of Free-Will.

Great band, great songs... And the definitely most impressing vocalist there is. If they don't get into the top ten, I'm worried about the people voting here. Just because they're not an American band, that doesn't mean they can't be a whole lot better than them X3

They are genius. They create different styles. There is nothing, they can't do. Dir en Grey will never fade away, they will live forever and nothing will make them go away. Number 1, for now and ever.

Dir en grey are the greates band who make me discover the music. they are so energic and emotional! Every song is unique and so powerful! Thanks DEG for all those experience!

love them

234 Europe Europe Europe is a Swedish rock band formed in Upplands Väsby, Stockholm in 1979 under the name Force by vocalist Joey Tempest, guitarist John Norum, bassist Peter Olsson and drummer Tony Reno.

It is a shame that they have to be pigeonholed as a one-hit-wonder band with the song - The Final Coundown. They have formed back up and reshaped their sound too, for example, on their latest album "Secret Society".

They have been criticised by many music critics, mainly because of that one song, and are way underrated.

Actually I love The Final Countdown: it always gives me a boost, in fact I always listens to it when I have to carry out a hard task. Not to mention other really explosive tracks, such as "Superstitious", " Sign of Times" and more recently " Always the Pretenders" or "Last Look at Eden".

Hey! Why are they in a top 200? They should be in a top 10! They were first rock band on the list in 21 countries 1986. And remember The Final Countdown!

Europe should at least be in the top 10.
They are extremely underrated.

240 Crowded House

Neil Finn is one of the best songwriters of ALL TIME. Seriously, the man is a genius - listen to any of their albums for definitive proof. Pure gold people.

Can't say enough about how good the songs are - never seem to lose their magic.

Temple Of Low Men and Together Alone are back to front masterpieces. Timeless music on par with any of the greats - Finn is incredibly unhearlded and underrated. Sublime.

A pure pop band and very melodic but in no way a rock band - frankmartin
