Best Rock Bassists with Lead Vocals

BlueFuse
I do not have a top ten because bass players are mostly works with the guitar and it matters who the band it. If I did do a top ten it would be going by just by what music the artist is from is better. Guitar is not like that sense there are solo artists that use the guitar. There is only a few who are the greatest and it will not be long and find out why I have these few on the list. I made this list for Blue Cheer and if you read my account you can understand how Blue Cheer is so great.

The Top Ten

1 Dickie Peterson (Blue Cheer) Dickie Peterson (Blue Cheer)

Dickie Peterson is the music of Blue Cheer. Dickie Peterson with Blue Cheer did Rock the true way. Blue Cheer happen because of Dickie Peterson. Blue Cheer really plays the Rocking and classic Rock way. Dickie Peterson is also a solo artist. He brought something new out with Blue Cheer. Rush follow than and so did the rest of Hard rock. If other Rock artist like The Rolling Stones, The Who, Cream, and Jimi Hendrix are the best and have best players than so does Blue Cheer. Blue Cheer have the same fell as those too. Blue Cheer is the coolest thing ever. - BlueFuse

Well, it seems people don't really know about him, but I admit it he's really good. - somekindofaguy

2 Les Claypool (Primus) Les Claypool (Primus) Leslie Edward "Les" Claypool is an American musician, singer, songwriter, composer, author and actor best known as the bassist and lead vocalist of the band Primus.

Definitely deserves to be on here. - zxm

You are right. He should be here. I really did not know Primus. When I first heard Primus first it was not one of my top best artists and was not like the other Rock artists I know. When I check them out, Primus is now is one of my best artists. I can look up music fast and know how much I like them just be a fast listen. There is just so much Rock music out there. How come Primus is not known to be one of the best artists? Les Claypool is one of the best bass players just like Neil Peart is to drums. Should be top 5. Dickie Peterson, and John Entwistle is just the best bass players. Paul McCartney is a better musician than Les Claypool but not a better bass player. Paul McCartney is more than a bass player. People to understand why Les Claypool is so, great please look at my list. - BlueFuse

10 Sumon (Aurthohin) Sumon (Aurthohin) Saidus Salehin Khaled (Sumon), is a bass player, singer, songwriter, composer, music producer from Bangladesh and the vocalist and bassist for the rock band Aurthohin. He is known as "Bassbaba" (Father of Bass) among his fans and audiences for his bass guitar playing.

@bluefuse, Sumon isn't a solo artist. I won't say he is better than les clay pool. But there are some things which sumon could do in special. Like, he could play bass guitar with his teeth. Yes, there are very few bassists who could do that. And Sumon is one of them. You said, you could hear Les Claypool's basslines. Well, you also could listen Sumon's basslines. Tapping, slapping, finger-picking, plectrum uses, teeth-grinding etc etc.
And for his band, aurthohin isn't a good band, its just an opinion. There are two things to notice. 1. They don't sing in English. And most people don't listen non-english songs. 2. They are from a very poor country. That's why they couldn't earn international popularity. For these reasons most people don't know them. But just because people don't know them doesn't mean his band or he can't be good. If I say who's better Sumon or mike dirnt. Most will choose mike dirnt because green day is famous. But objectively Sumon is better. Plus this band has a ...more - zxm

@bluefuse, I am not arguing you. And please don't take it offensively. But Ibrahim Ahmed Kamal is a lot better guitarist than Billie Joe Armstrong. I mean Billie Joe Armstrong is mostly a rhythm guitarist. While Kamal, Shishir or Piklu are lead guitarist. Try these songs solo - Guti (the Finale), Cancer, Aushampto, Shaat Din, Abar (this was played by a drummer). I am not saying Aurthohin is better than Green Day. Obviously Green Day is better. Even though guitar sounds/tone is a subjective thing, but who is more talented at it is an objective thing. I mean look at this list "Greatest Rock Guitarists of All Time". Here Billie Joe Armstrong is ahead of Yngwie Malmsteen. But would you say Billie is better than Yngwie Malmsteen? In someone's opinion it may be. I don't mind. But Yngwie Malmsteen knows more of a guitar than Billie. - zxm

You do make some fine points. The base cannot completely make a song like a guitar can. Why do you underrate Blue Cheer. You can see my best artist list to see more reasons why I like Blue Cheer? Blue Cheer did start Hard rock and is very cool. Blue Cheer should have got what Led Zeppelin got or more. Try the first 2 Blue Cheer albums to see how great Blue Cheer is. - BlueFuse
