Basically rock singers that are a bit too popular bit still have a good voice to sing with. All genres are allowed. And the singer has to be still living that's all really.

Sir James Paul McCartney is an English singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and composer . With John Lennon, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr, he gained worldwide fame with the rock band the Beatles, one of the most popular and influential groups in the history of pop and rock music .
This does not make any sense, he is the biggest selling and most successful musician of all time, somebody who has accomplished that can't be overrated, unless you mean he is overrated today because he is 74 years old. He has done more than you ever will have when you are 74, or anybody else will for that matter.
The Beatles the band he sang for are a bit overrated. He himself is a bit overrated does not mean I got anything against him? No of course not! And age really? He might be old but he's at least better than our modern Pop stars.
You care not "over-rated" if you actually are the biggest seller of all time. The reverse is true; anybody who thinks they are better is over-rating themselves.
McCartney has skated on the Beatles' fame for the past 45 years. Since the split, he's offered no more than sappy pop.
He shouldn’t be below Billie Joe Armstrong and the only reason he is is because people voted without reading the title “Top 10 Rock Singers That Are a Bit Overrated But STILL SING WELL”. Don’t get me wrong, I think Billie Joe Armstrong is a good singer and a bit overrated, but Green Day has kind of faded over the years while The Beatles has been around for over 50 years and haven’t faded one bit. People need to learn that there is a fine line between “overrated” and “bad”, and when I call him overrated which is a fact if you think about it, just be aware that he’s still one of my favourite singers of all time. If I thought he was bad, I would’ve voted for him on Top 10 Singers That are Both Overrated and Bad and not on this. - 3DG20

I don’t think he should be this high on the list. He may be a bit (just a little) overrated now, but if he didn’t join Three Days Grace, a lot of the praise he gets may not have been there because My Darkest Days wasn’t a very well known band, and please don’t think I’m calling anything bad. I think Matt is awesome! - 3DG20
