'It's just that it gets very annoying and misleading when someone places a band in the wrong genre'; It's more annoying when redundant lists are submitted everyday with no actual reason. What band is metal or not; what metal musician likes dogs or cats; or which metal musician could be leader of the world.

May I ask, why do metalheads make such a big deal about what band is metal and what is not? I'm very curious why that is so because it just bothers me that this is something people love to argue about.

I like to think of him as a both a Rock and Punk singer. Some of his songs do have punk-ish vibes. But I agree that he's not Metal in the slightest.

I agree with all 10 items of the original remix of the author.

2 David Draiman David Michael Draiman is an American songwriter and the vocalist for the band Disturbed as well as for the band Device.

For a while Disturbed had a different name in the 90s (Brawl) and as Brawl they released a demo with 4 songs that was groove metal. But it was with another singer, so yes - David Draiman isn't a metal singer.

What's System then, I though it was Nu-Metal?

5 Jonathan Davis Jonathan Howsmon Davis, also known as JD and JDevil, is an American musician best known as the leading vocalist and frontman of the nu metal band Korn.

He himself admitted Korn were not metal. I agree - their music is basically rap/hip hop with punk, rock and industrial rock (in different proportions, depending on the song).

Then it's pretty heavy rock

6 Corey Taylor Corey Todd Taylor was born in December 8, 1973. He is an American musician, author, and actor best known as the lead singer and lyricist of the Nu-metal band Slipknot and hard rock/alternative metal band Stone Sour.

Oh dear... Skullkid755, it's not death metal vocals. It's called harsh (rough) vocals and harsh vocals are still clean vocals although they are different from melodic clean vocals. Death growls are from a completely different group - "unclean" vocals.

Slipknot claim they play thrash metal... LOL. Whatever they play, it isn't thrash metal. And for me, it isn't metal in general.

Talking bout Stone Sour right?

Define metal singing.

Though he was like rap metal (more like rap-rock)

He's a rapper and not a metal singer

EliHbk, I agree it's pretty stupid to call Aerosmith metal but many people actually do - Steven Tyler is at #46 (out of 204) on the list Top Metal Singers, which is very high despite remixes with him on dishonorable mentions. He's higher than Russell Allen (#76), Floor Jansen, Bobby "Blitz" Ellsworth, Tim Ripper Owens, and many more, because the list has 204 items as of today.

What, who calls aerosmith metal?
