1 Beaver The beaver is a primarily nocturnal, large, semiaquatic rodent. Castor includes two extant species, the North American beaver and Eurasian beaver. Beavers are known for building dams, canals, and lodges.

Their fur is incredible and expensive, and was used in fur trade that started in the 16th century. They are one of Canada's official national emblems.

I am pretty sure most of you have never seen flying squirrels even on a picture.

They are part of the urban life - you can see them even in neighborhoods with skyscrapers in the largest cities - Toronto and Montreal.
