Top Ten Best NFL Running Backs of the 2015-2016 Season

The top ten running backs in the NFL heading into the 2015 season

The Top Ten

1 Adrian Peterson Adrian Lewis Peterson is an American football running back who originally played for the Minnesota Vikings and currently plays for the Washington Redskins of the National Football League.

Top 25 players ever. Second most rushing yards in one season. 10,000 yard club. 4th best running back ever. Second best Viking ever. And he is still active.

I think Adrian Peterson should be first because he is the best rb in nfl, the defense can't stop him

Most rushing yards in one GAME totes should be first

He'll make his way to the Hall of Fame

2 Le'Veon Bell Le'Veon Andrew Bell is an American football running back for the New York Jets of the National Football League.

Well when he returned he did alright until an injury came and he was done for the year.

When he is not suspended or injured he is fantasy football gold.

Great back and deserves more respect

3 Marshawn Lynch Marshawn Terrell Lynch is an American football running back for the Oakland Raiders of the National Football League. He previously played for the Buffalo Bills and Seattle Seahawks, winning one Super Bowl in Seattle. Lynch initially retired from professional football in 2016, but returned in 2017 to ...read more.

I'm sorry but Marshawn should be at least #2 if not 1. He's better than AP right only because AP's getting old, and I mean come on just look at how little AP did last season compared to marshawn. Marshawn is the #1 Back in the league right now.

I don't think Leon bell should be 2 I think marshal lynch should be

Seriously #3 that's not right he should be #1

Marshawn should be number 5

4 Eddie Lacy Eddie Darwin Lacy, Jr. is an American football running back for the Green Bay Packers of the National Football League.

When did Lacy gain weight oh it's no wonder he hasn't been the same last year so unexpected.

Probably the toughest running back in the league.

Run fat boy run go pack go😎

Fat son of a bitch.

5 Todd Gurley Todd Gurley II is an American football running back for the Atlanta Falcons of the National Football League.

After Adrian Peterson retires he will be the best back in the league. He is also on my fantasy football team.

Half of the people higher than him were injured half of the season

Looking like a strong candidate for Rookie of the year next to Amari Cooper.

Gurley is at least top 3

6 Devonta Freeman Devonta Freeman is an American football running back for the Atlanta Falcons of the National Football League.

In the 1st half he looked like a Mid-season MVP then an unfortunate injury may have ruined that chance of that.

I pick Devonta Freeman because he is very speedy and can truck players very good.

For the first 8 games he looks like MVP and then he gets injured.

7 Chris Ivory Christopher Lee Ivory is an American football running back for the Jacksonville Jaguars of the National Football League.

Breakout season he had last year with the jets. He with Jaguars know. Very hard hitter.

Having quite a good season!

8 Arian Foster Arian Isa Foster is an American football running back who is a free agent. He played college football at Tennessee, and was signed by the Houston Texans as an undrafted free agent in 2009. Foster is known for his vision in finding rushing lanes and his signature Namaste bow, which he frequently performs ...read more.

Very disappointing year for what could be the last time we see Foster due to all the injury problems he has suffered with.

If he wasn't getting injured all the time he would have hall of fame potential. He beat out Jay Ajayi for starting RB for the Dolphins.

9 Chris Johnson Christopher Duan Johnson is an American football running back for the Arizona Cardinals of the National Football League.

If anyone should get comeback of the year nobody would of said Chris Johnson but I know his out for the season but give the man an award for effort.

Good mentor for David Johnson. He isn't doing to bad himself.

10 Doug Martin Douglas Matthew Baranco Martin is an American football running back for the Oakland Raiders of the National Football League.

Loved him as a rookie. I'm so glad he is back to being the old Doug Martin after injuries.

Having a great season after having a really bad second year.

The Contenders

11 Jamaal Charles Jamaal RaShaad Jones Charles is an American football running back for the Kansas City Chiefs of the National Football League.

He was doing okay until of course he got hurt and was done for the year luckily the chiefs have a great RB tandem in West & Ware and have a chance to go to the playoffs.

He is great and will only come back

12 Matt Forte Matthew Garrett Forte is an American football running back for the New York Jets in the National Football League.

It seems like the Bears future at RB might turn to Langford Forte is showing his getting old and might go to a rival team next year Lions? Packers?

13 LeSean McCoy LeSean Kamel McCoy also known as "Shady" is an American football running back for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers of the National Football League.

Having kinda the same year as last year but kinda better.

He is so fast gust fast

14 Justin Forsett Justin Forsett is an American football running back for the Baltimore Ravens of the National Football League.

Man the Ravens took a bad loss with both Forsett & Flacco and will most likely be finished. Anyway Forsett had his ups & downs in the end you knew what happened.

15 Mark Ingram Mark Ingram, Jr. is an American football running back for the Baltimore Ravens of the National Football League.

Another good year for Ingram back-to-back.

16 Frank Gore Franklin Delano Gore is an American football running back for the Indianapolis Colts of the National Football League.

Frank Gore is a very great back...over 12,000 rushingyards in his career he is very under rated..Should be in front of Lynch

Not having that good of a season as the colts were hoping.

17 Dion Lewis

New England Patriots running back who established a legitimate running game in New England this season before injuries.

Well lewis has potential but brady doesn't run the ball much

18 Andre Ellington Andre DeAngelo Ellington is an American football running back for the Arizona Cardinals of the National Football League.

First few games he was doing ok until they announced Johnson would be the staring RB but now he might get that opportunity back.

19 DeAngelo Williams

Le'Veon is #2? This guy OWNED 2015-16... I have no doubt that Le'Veon is definitely top 10 in the game but not for the season. Williams is at least top 5 for 15-16 considering all the injuries.

20 Alfred Morris Alfred Bruce Morris is an American football running back for the Dallas Cowboys of the National Football League.

Having a surprisingly disappointing year because they drafted another RB and that he could be on the way out for that reason.

He will run over anybody

21 Giovani Bernard

Did slightly better than Hill with carries split.

Awesome

22 Jeremy Hill Jeremy Hill is an American football running back for the Cincinnati Bengals of the National Football League.

He should be ranked about #18 while Gio about #15..

23 Darren Sproles Darren Lee Sproles is a former American football running back of the National Football League. Sproles was drafted in the 4th round, 130th overall by the San Diego Chargers in the 2005 NFL Draft. He also played with the New Orleans Saints and Philadelphia Eagles.
24 Jonathan Stewart Jonathan Creon Stewart is an American football running back for the Carolina Panthers of the National Football League.

He was a part of double trouble deangelo Williams. He showed me that he doesn't need deangelo to be great.
