The Contenders: Page 6
I'm so sad to say that he's now dead. He died in such a brave and heroic yet horrible way for his friends, being burnt to death. He was such a ray of sunshine in a dreary universe. A rose growing from concrete. He was intelligent, underrated and extremely brave. R.I.P Armin.
Armin was so precious, we all respected him, we all rooted for him. I cried when it happened. I don't think I'll ever get over it. - Aurothon
He... actually... died? OH MY GOD! This literally saddened me. He may have been weak physically but he had the brains. And he was such a good friend of Eren as well. I did not predict he would die but he did. It was really sad! R.I.P Armin (he died in the manga). - SelfDestruct
GOOD NEWS THEY BROUGHT HIM BACK! - izayaoriharaV 5 Comments
I cried, period.
His death is so sad.He deserves better
"I know.I know this better than anyone because I am your friend.." the feels, his death is so sad.ToT
She didint die stupid!
Oh my gosh. This was just horrible. She was the loneliest person on earth, fighting for innocent people's lives every day of her existence... And then "CHOMP! " it's over. She was my favorite character.
She just explained how she wasn't scared anymore because Madoka was with her. yes it was stupid to trap Humura or whatever her name is but I watched the rest of the anime hoping that Madoka would wish for her life to come back. I actually like the wish she does make though.
Madoka's wish was to end suffering by removing witches, Past and future so they won't die as witches - MLPFan
Mami is my second favorite character (My first is Kyoko)

When I was watching season 1, I didn't know there was a second season, so I cried so much in the end of season 1...
But, he lived. YAY!
He didn't die but for some reason I voted
Uh he didn't die - nao
Why the heck is he here, I'm sorry if I offend anyone but
! MAJOR SPOILERS FOR ANIME AND MANGA!
The second season basically shouldn't have been made and the manga is still going. I love Ciel but honestly... He didn't DIE PEOPLE! XP
Just because it's Akame ga Kill
Having watched Akame Ga Kill! (Great anime by the way), I kinda liked Lubb, even though he wasn't the best or the most memorable. I was kind of surprised and depressed seeing him die. If you read the manga, he goes through a lot more (What Syura does in the manga to him and many others is just unforgivable) and how he defeats/kills one of my most hated anime characters makes me proud of him :(. - CrimsonShark
I don't know why this is so far from the top 10. I know it wasn't as sad as some of the other choices, but this part was terrible. Like Train finally thought he had a friend, and not only that but his FIRST friend, only to have her killed by one of his old partners. This part just broke my heart. But towards the end of the show (spoiler) I liked how her ghost or something was there when they defeated Creed. This is my 2nd favorite show EVER!
Let's be serious we all thought he was gone.
The only death in DBZ that was heartbreaking and deserves to be on this list. Too bad they ruined his sacrifice by bringing him back to life. - RalphSaad
I cried when this happened, the only time in any anime I ever cried.
This should be number one! Had me in tearsV 2 Comments
The saddest moment in the anime for me so far. Gray couldn't bring himself to kill him and Juvia didn't want to hurt Gray but went with Silver's idea as he didn't have much time left. Having reunited with his dad after losing him when he was a kid was heart wrenching, and the Gray thanking Juvia scene just added to it.
108? Are you sure that this list is fair? I don't feel sad for anime characters so often but this death had affected me so much. I come here everyday to vote this :'( - Tuana123
The saddest moment in the whole anime. Gray suffers at almost every arc.

She died for the dream of her husband(Kiritugu), and after that him trashed it
Kariya gave his life up trying to save Sakura, so it ended up being heartbreaking when he failed so close to the end. The only thing he ever really fought for was for her safety, not for anything else. As much as it might seem he hated Tokiomi, deep down, it all originated from his original desire: to save Sakura.
He did not deserve the fate he received. He was tortured, manipulated, betrayed, and looked down upon by everyone, and in the end, he could not find peace at all in his life.
Kariya entered the War believing he could succeed, but in reality, his chances were closer to 0.
How much better would it have been if he had known beforehand.
Are we talking about the show or the manga?
The show gives us a cliff hanger that she could be alive, so that's up in the air. And if she did die in the anime series, getting shot a bunch of times was a bad way to go.
However, in the manga, her death was just surreal and heartbreaking. The emotions she finally lets go in front of everyone was just depressing. She sacrificed herself to save the man she loved from dying, thus destroying her body. Also, asking the man she falls in love with to end her is even worse.
She was alone her whole life and bullied and all she wanted was to be loved and she died protecting kouta in the anime. In the manga it was different but still the anime was quite sad and I balled my eyes out. Poor lucy.
I loved lucy she was such an amazing person when she died I was balling my eyes out she will forever be remembered
She will be forever in My heart
If you played everything in the series and watched this, you would know how heartbreaking it is. All she wanted was to see her classmates and Hajime again. This was honestly one of the saddest deaths I've seen. I was crying for hours and still tear up when I see it.
Her death was one of the saddest deaths of danganronpa. I cried for hours when she died. I can understand why the others fell in despair when she died... She was a great friend :(
As unpopular as this opinion may be, the final (season? Arc? I never got what they were) was the best. Cosmo was a heartbreaking character in and of herself. She watched the genocide of her entire race, found out she was being used as a spy for the people who committed the genocide, fell in love, and then had to sacrifice her life and therefore her species to save the universe from her own father. I cried. Heck, I still cry whenever I watch that scene. Tails finally found someone to love, but he was forced to kill her. This whole thing was Romeo and Juliet on steroids.
It was so sad when Cosmo died! It was like a romance novel the way her true love had to kill her to save the universe. Adding on to that, she was only 8 years old!
I saw the Japanese version and I BAWLED MY EYES OUT. The emotional depth, the SADDENING piano piece and the flashbacks.
Time to kill 4kids for ruining that sceneV 4 Comments
