Saddest Deaths of 1972

The Top Ten
1 Roberto Clemente Roberto Enrique Clemente Walker was a Puerto Rican professional baseball right fielder who played 18 seasons in Major League Baseball for the Pittsburgh Pirates.
2 Jackie Robinson Jack Roosevelt Robinson was an American professional baseball player who became the first African American to play in Major League Baseball in the modern era.

His death was slow and coming but not at the age of 53. Jackie had to deal with people saying we're going to shoot you if you play or saying he don't belong to the Brooklyn Dodgers. But he survived and became a role model for all of baseball. His appearance on Sesame Street in 1970 only added to the legend of Robinson. His last plea was at the 1972 World Series when he wanted black people to coach in the Major Leagues. He didn't see it alive, but thanks to him, it did happen.
