Two Years....

It's officially been two years since Chester Bennington's suicide. Love him or hate him, it's undeniable the influence he has had on music for almost two decades. Like anyone he had demons of his own to face. Demons that ultimately won because he gave up. His legacy and his music will always carry on in our hearts. Although I never him personally, his death really did make me cry. Simply because of how much his music influences me. The messages he conveyed in his songs range from dark, to hopeful at times. Ultimately, he is one of the most influential rock singers of the past decade. Making his death just that more depressing.

However, suicide is not the answer. If you ever feel like you're low. Talk to someone, doesn't matter who just let them know. Depression is a thing that can't be won alone. It requires the help of others to push you through the dark time you're facing. Eventually you will see light again and that light will be your salvation. Don't keep your thoughts bottle inside. Let people know that you aren't at your best. They will help you, no matter what the cost. Just don't be afraid to tell someone when you have the chance.

His family is probably the one that got affected by his death the most. His son has even got harassed, by people that think Chester was murdered. Chester's wife is still hurting but it's easy to see why. Suicide is one of the most devastating things that anyone can do. I know what it's like to just feel so damn hopeless. But life will eventually get better for you. Chester chose to end his sorrow by ending it all. That is a decision that he made on his own regard. But that doesn't mean you have to go out in the same fashion. Learn from how tragic that was, to never allow yourself to become victim of that same fate.

Chester was a influence to a lot of people. I'm definitely one of them, and now I'm listening to a song. That I think is very hopeful and inspiring. I'll post lyrics to it towards the bottom, and a number for the Suicide Prevention Hotline. No matter how hopeless you feel, know that you're not alone. People have gotten that low as well, myself included. Don't let it be the end because you're scared or unsure of how to carry on. You got to keep fighting and never let your demons beat you. Because, if you just give up you're not beating your demons. Your demons are beating you and won't stop until you take control.

Thanks for reading this post it means a lot to me. Don't give into demons or thoughts in your head. Remember that you have control of the situation. Even, if you feel like you don't have any control at all. No matter what happens don't throw your life away. The world has enough tragedies as it is. We don't need another one anytime soon. Keep pushing forward and remember that you can win this. Without further to do, here's some lyrics from LP's messenger and the number to the Suicide Prevention Hotline. Like always this has been me signing off once again.

Suicide Prevention Hotline: (1-800-273-8255)

When you feel you're alone
Cut off from this cruel world
Your instincts telling you to run
Listen to your heart
Those angel voices
They'll see you to you
They'll be your guide
Back home where life leaves us blind
Love keeps us kind
It keeps us kind
When you suffered it all
And your spirit is breaking
You're growing desperate from the fight
Remember your love
And you always will be
This melody will always bring
You right back home
When life leaves us blind
Love, keeps us kind
When life leaves us blind
Love keeps us kind
Oh oh
Oh oh
Oh oh
