The Contenders: Page 8

141 Lust, Caution
142 Spartacus
143 My Dog Skip

I saw this once, I was just flipping through the channels and I landed on it. I watched the whole thing, I got to the end and I just cried, it was so sad. Really sweet movie, though I'm not a dog lover but this movie, I think may have changed my mind about them a little.

I have only ever watched this movie once. We cried for days after seeing it. It was then promptly banned from the house as my parents didn't want to deal with sobbing wet messes every where they went. I think they also worried for the dog, as we were hugging him so tight he could barely move.

If you have ever loved a dog, this movie will destroy you. Truly, the saddest movie I have EVER seen! Nothing comes close to it...

Watched this thinking it was going to be a silly kids movie. Fell in love with the characters and cried my eyes out.

144 Big Fish

Okay so there are lots of sad scenes in lots of movies but I'm typically able to move myself from the story and take it as it is: a story. That being said I have cried at 4 movies in my entire life. When I was a little kid, it was The Wizard of Oz & The Never Ending Story. Then Marley & Me later on. Just recently, oh my god I could not stop crying at the end. The last sequence was unbelievably sad because you knew it was coming. I kept saying in my head "please don't die. Please don't die" and then he did and I started crying even more. Jesus Christ. What makes it hard is the film is so fun and whimsy that you're not really ready for the end. Lord help me.

The son thinks the father is lying about his escapades. but they turned out to be true. His father and mother had such a deep love for each other!

I haven't cried for almost 7 years but this movie made me cry so much. It's so sad when he loses his father and finds out that all the people he's been telling stories about are real. Tim Burton is a genius.

Yes, I cried at the end but it was one of the most beautiful movie in the world.

145 Pearl Harbor

Its an amazing film when I watched the end I just cried my eyes out and I'm not a cryie person so it must be sad my mum said the first time she watched it she cried too. I haven't seen a film so sad before.

I choose Pearl Harbor Why? Because besides that fact, that I cry a river every time I watch a movie - doesn't matter if it's a comedy or a drama, I especially cry a sea, when I watch Pearl Harbor. It is and will stay on my list of top 5 sad movies, and then it's Remember me and so on and on.. - tinabirk

Such an awesome film have watched it so many times and I still cry at so many parts of this movie! Josh Hartnett is so sexy

In my opinion, this movie should be #1. It is literally the saddest movie I have ever seen in my entire life. I ugly cry every time I watch it.

147 The Girl Next Door

This movie is sadder than I thought possible. It's so sad that an early friendship that was going to become such a close one was ended in such a brutal way. The depth of this movie is also a strong point that makes it even sadder. (SPOILER ALERT) It's just downright depressing to think that Davy at an older age would still remember Meg, remember how lovely she was when she still walked the Earth, but now only forever grieve on how the thing that was so dear to him was taken away, forever. There's so much nostalgia in the movie, like the picture Meg drew, and how (older) Davy still visits the lake where he first met Meg, and still sees her in the reflection. I highly recommend that anyone who can handle a bit of violence watches it. You'll probably cry every time you do.

This is a true story about a girl who lives with her evil step mum who torches her till death evan at young love the girls boyfriend will stay with her he nearly rescued her but she sadly died in his arms this movie is TRUE

Oh yes this movie is so sad! I had everyone at work watch it, and they all cried. Goos movie

152 World Trade Center

Just a reminder how bad that day was on September 11 2001. One of the saddest scenes was watching the guy falling from one of the towers.

Yes this is a lot sadder than titanic, I mean that was a love story not a movie about tragedy

I cried from the moment the two towers went down to the end of the credits. it was so sad. until I watched the movie I din't really get how bad 9/11 was but this movie not only changed my thoughts about 9/11 it changed me forever. the saddest movie I ever saw. a close second would be forrest gump or toy story 3. but this one made me cry 10 times more then them

153 Though None Go with Me
154 Still Alice

It's a new film, I saw it two weeks ago in the movies, and it's about a lady developing Alzheimer's, I cried 3 times.

155 Spider-Man 3

Brilliant movie with a very emotional ending. People diss it because it's not as good as the second

Spider-Man is this idiot who thinks he's the best. He's also a Mary Sue (and I know what a Mary Sue is) - DontMakeARookieMistake

When it was at the ending I was in tears for hours. It should be number 1.

I don't understand how this got on the list of sad movies!

156 Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen
157 Silenced (2011)
158 Reign Over Me

One of the saddest movies ever! If you have a family this movie will really hit you where it hurts. I would never want to experience the things that have happened to Adam Sandler's character.

This is the only movie that has ever made me cry. I have only watched it twice and I cried both times. It deserves to be much higher then it is.

I cried, plain and simple

This movie got to me

159 The Fault In Our Stars

This is probably the saddest movie I have ever seen (besides the Titanic) It shows that life doesn't have to be perfect for love to be extraordinary. SPOILER! It was so devestating when Augustus tells Hazel that his cancer was back and his PET scan 'Lit up like a Christmas tree'. But the saddest part was at the pre funeral when Hazel gives her eulogy and says to Augustus: ' Gus, my love, I cannot tell you how thankful I am for our little infinity. You have given me a forever within the numbered days and I am, forever greatful. ' And then straight after that scene you see Hazel in her bed wearing Augustus' T shirt with her voice over saying 'Augustus Waters died eight days later'. And in the scene Hazel hears the phone and she knows that Gus has now moved on. She then starts to cry, seconds later her mother and father come in and Hazel stars to ball her eyes out (and the rest of the people in the cinema). Why is this movie at the bottom of the list?

I think it's a tragic story that very much reflects on the truth of our sad and inevitably short lives. But what Hazel and Gus share and experience is like no other; the story made me laugh and cry, at the friendship and love that the two share. They feel pain like we do, and suffer the sweetest of bitter romances. All I can say is, watch this with a box of tissues. Or you'll very much regret it.

This movie is Both moving and sweet, there is so much that makes you think of life and what we have, watching "The Faults in our stars" made me cry both because of how touching it was and because it Gave me a feeling of happiness but hints of sadness. The Faults in our stars is worth the watch

So much sadder than Titanic. - Elric-san

This was a great film but it was very sad when toothless was drowning. And the ending was touching. Love this movie
