Though he IS still alive today, Axl is way too criticized. Sure he has anger issues and emotional problems, BUT IT WAS CAUSED BY ABUSE AS A CHILD! Not to mention, he was the one who tried to keep Guns N' Roses alive! And he did it well! But then people start telling him he's useless and so is Guns N' Roses. The Contenders
11 Richard Starkey "Ringo Starr"

What an erroneous statement, Ringo's not sad, he is and always has been an exceptionally happy dude. He was smart enough to know that his one and only job was to keep the proper beat and time with the Lennon/McCartney [and later Harrison] compositions, the greatest collection ever in the pop/rock genre. Any of the big name drummers like Moon, Baker, Bonham, or whoever would have tried to make it about themselves, and not the phenomenal music. As Ringo himself says about the requirements to join his All-Starr Band: "You need to have had a hit record. [sotto voice] I have had several"

One of the best when it comes to getting his sadness down on paper in the form of music. Particularly "Layla" about unrequited love, and even more so "Tears in Heaven" expresses an anguish few of us can comprehend. He literally wrote it instead of committing suicide after the tragic death of his young son.

15 Jonathan Davis Jonathan Howsmon Davis, also known as JD and JDevil, is an American musician best known as the leading vocalist and frontman of the nu metal band Korn.

Abused by his stepmom, made fun of in school, was even molested at age 12 and his father didn't even believe him. I'm not a huge fan of Korn but that is seriously depressing.

His parents divorced when he was just a child, faced domestic violence by his stepmother, bullied by jocks in school, sexually molested by his babysitter...even his wife died this year

I don't like Korn, but this guy's childhood was seriously messed up.

The cops didn't care (cause she was a prostitute and he was a junkie) and told him to get lost.
