Saddest Rock Songs of All Time
The Contenders: Page 8
This song is way too far on this list.
Its just ugh
The song is about a man losing his wife and saying farewell. The woman he loved is now far away and he tries to accept it and move on. The powerful lyrics combined with dark melodies constitutes one of the saddest songs I have listened to.
"I gave you my hand
I said it's okay letting go time to leave here
And I'll carry on
The best that I can without you here beside me"
I find this more emotional than "Snuff". This one really hits you when you start reminiscing of the loss of some whom you felt really close with and how family (Either blood or people/a group whom you share a deep bond with) is something you would cherish so much. Although made before Paul Gray's death, it's the best song by Slipknot to connect with the former bassist.
To many others, its really relatable song. Its also really emotional as there's so much to connect to this song. - CrimsonShark
The type of overwhelming despair and fiery anger that combine to form this song--- it screams out that even though your ship is sinking, your taking everyone that's ever hurt you down with it.
How is this not higher dave pours his heart in this song and it is a song that many people feel in their daily lives since we live in such a selfish world
It may not "feel" sad, but knowing the background, it is pretty sad.
This song means so much to what has happened in my life. My favorite song by Red and my favorite song.
I actually don't find it sad, but it's still an amazing song. - LarkwingFlight
I miss all these songs. In my opinion, 1999-2010 had the best rock music. Not to put off the classics. You know what I mean. Modern rock wise.
Last video appearance of Mercury
Its great acoustic song... Very underrated... Vote this up!V 1 Comment
Honestly this should be in the Top 10 at least! The absolutely depressing lyrics in combination with a much more calm and collected Dream Theater sound made this one of the saddest Songs I've ever heard! - CastlevaniaFanboy128
One of their first songs, and in my opinion the saddest. This deserves a higher spot on this list. Go listen to it yourself, it really is sad.
There first album and for sure the saddest song they made. Also one of my favorite
One of the saddest A7X songs
The intro, beat, chorus. Everything is just incredible and touching
This song is so touching, resounding about a relationship having problems due to alcohol.
