The Top Ten
Iroh is such a kind and generous person who cares for everyone, especially his nephew, and seeing Iroh like this is heartbreaking. - PeeledBanana
Little soldier boy come marching home
Brave soldier boy comes marching home
Why It's Sad:
In the episode "Tales of Ba Sing Se" Iroh spends his whole day helping everyone around him, for example, singing this song to calm down a crying boy at the market place. At the end of his day he sings this song in remembrance of his son Lu Ten, who died during the siege of Ba Sing Se, while Iroh was still a Fire Nation general. Before he starts singing the war ballad he says: "Happy birthday my son. If only I could have helped you." And softly begins to cry, which makes the whole scene even more heart-breaking, by stressing that Iroh has been helpful to every person in the episode, but was not able to save his son. It shows that the loss of his son was what caused his change of heart in regards to the war abd made him the lovable character as we got to know him.

With Rose being Pink Diamond and Pearl used to being her servant, the song makes more sense.
Why It's Sad:
In the episode: "Mr. Greg" Pearl is expressing her feelings regarding the loss of Rose and Rose having chosen Greg over her with this song.
I was fine with the men
Who would come into her life now and again.
I was fine 'cause I knew
That they didn't really matter until you. I was fine when you came
And we fought like it was all some silly game
Over her, who she'd choose.
After all those years, I never thought I'd lose. It's over, isn't it? Isn't it? Isn't it over?
It's over, isn't it? Isn't it? Isn't it over?
You won, and she chose you, and she loved you, and she's gone.
It's over, isn't it? Why can't I move on? War and glory, reinvention
Fusion, freedom, her attention,
Out in daylight, my potential,
Bold, precise, experimental, Who am I now in this world without her?
Petty and dull with the nerve to doubt her?
What does it matter, it's already done.
Now I've got to be there for her son. It's ...more - Alcyone
This song is why I love marceline and ice king(Simon petrikov)
This song is the best! (so good that I cried on this song lol 😂! )
Why It's Sad:
Marceline sings this song together with the Ice King in the episode "I Remember You". It is revealed that before Simon became the mad Ice King, he took care of a crying Marceline after the Mushroom War. Marceline reads an old note from him to him, desperately trying to get her old friend to remember. But his memory remains lost.
Marceline: Marceline, is it just you and me in the wreckage of the world?
That must be so confusing for a little girl.
And I know you're going to need me here with you.
But I'm losing myself, and I'm afraid you're gonna lose me too. This magic keeps me alive, but it's making me crazy,
And I need to save you, but who's going to save me?
Please forgive me for whatever I do,
When I don't remember you.
Ice King: Marceline, I can feel myself slipping away.
I can't remember what it made me say.
But I remember that I saw you frown.
I swear it wasn't me, it was the crown. This magic ...more - Alcyone
This song made me literally cry
I think there are lots of sad songs in spongebob, but I think this song really make some people sad from the emotions spongebob shares and some people sharing a connection about a loss of their dog/lost dog which makes the song even more touching.
I think the song from Dumped is sadder I don't know why but this is still really sad
This is the saddest song in the series
Isabella is the perfect example of a childhood crush
This is sad Isabella and Phineas not being together and felling like it’s to late
Why It's Sad:
Isabella is about to leave for college in the episode "Act Your Age" and remembers her friendship with Phineas, who never appeared to return her romantic feelings.
Phineas, however, has just realized what Isabella felt for him. He does feel the same and tries to find her before she leaves for college. They sing this as a duet about their missed shot at romance.
Isabella : I wanted you to see me,
But for so long, you were blind
Now it's time to face tomorrow,
And leave all that stuff behind
Of what would our lives have been like,
If you'd just given me a sign
'Cause I like you more than every other
Thing I like combined...
I spent so many summers,
Hoping something would begin
I thought that I was over you,
But here I am again...
What might have been
Vivian : Phineas, honey, how are you?
Phineas : Hi Mrs. Garcia-Shapiro. Uh, is Isabella here?
Vivian : Oh no, sweetie, she's ...more - Alcyone
It's not that sad.
Why It's Sad:
While this song is not presented as sad in the episode it appeared in, the lyrics have been stated to be about Ember McLain's tragic back story by the creators.
"According to one of the creators for the show, before she died, Ember was an unpopular high school-aged girl who had large dreams of becoming a rock star. One day a boy asked her out to the movies. She waited all night for him to show up, saying, "He's just running late." When morning came and he didn't show up, Ember went home. She was so exhausted that she fell asleep and didn't wake up when her house mysteriously caught on fire. She died in the flames, which possibly gave her the name "Ember." Her song " Remember " is most likely based on the above events prior to her death." (Danny Phantom Wiki)
It was, it was September

One of the best moments in the series, pure love between mother and daughter

VERY UNDErrated SAD SONG. yes I know a breakup is not as sad as the other songs but come on! this'd be a good number 8. its mostly the music that boosts it. - DylanheBuilder
Why’d you leave me so?
Oh my Izzy
My little Izzy
Why’d I ever let you go?
A sad song about one of my favorite cartoon characters. :(
It made me cry to be honest
This song is depression itself
It's the song Musa sings to her dead mother.
In the Episode of "A.T. The Abusive Terrestrial" Where Steve doesn't want to spend more time with his best friend Roger. But Roger wanted to make out his friendship with him. So he decided to meet Henry who lived in his house and Roger wanted to stay with him for a while.
Lyrics: When I was his alien And the world was young and gay He thought I was as interesting As teddy bears were cute When I was his alien Every day was Tanqueray Every night Bacardi And the twilight Absolut Through the winter and the spring We'd make a game of everything Chowing down on dunkaroos And watching Ricky Lake But now he's older, breaking free He'd rather play with boobs than me I can't believe our special bond must break Now I'm not his alien What we had must finally end I'm useless As a car on bricks Atop a Redneck's lawn Now I'm not his alien Sadness is my only friend But life... Goes... On.
This is way sadder than Remember You. - 445956
I made a remix to this song. It's called "The Girl who said, Oh Man." It's from "Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends."
This song was in the episode "Career Day". Like Someday or Somewhere Out There, Beast Boy and Cyborg had to spend their nights separated.
It's the song Aisha/Layla sings to show her over-protected pratically non-existent childhood.
The song was sad that Seymour had to wait for Fry all day long.
Lyrics: I close my eyes And I can see The day we met Just one moment and I knew You're my best friend 'Do anything For you We've gone so far And done so much And I feel Like we've always been together Right by my side Through thick and thin You're the part of my life I'll always remember The time has come It's for the best I know it Who've could've guessed that you and I... somehow, someday We'd have to say goodbye. You've helped me find The strength inside And the courage To make all dreams come true How will I find Another friend Like you Two of a kind That's what we are And it seemed Like we were always winning But as our team Is torn apart I wish we could go Back to the beginning The time has come It's for the best I know it Who've could've guessed that you and I... Somehow, some way We'd have to say goodbye. Somehow today...we have to say goodbye.
In the episode of "Pikachu's Goodbye" where Ash says goodbye to his pokemon Pikachu. But Pikachu wanted to cheer him up. However fate is cool Ash runs away upset thinking about his friendship with Pikachu.
I'm honestly surprised that no one's added this song, but they've added Potatoes and Molasses. I find this song sad because you never find out whether the adventure was real or not, or even if the protagonists are alive or dead. Maybe this tale really was full of 'the loveliest lies of all'. But we may never know for sure.
It's more sad and reminds of Somewhere Out There from An American Tail
This song is shown when Bloom is back to earth and missing her friends.
This song is better than my little ones.
Lyrics: What has happened to this place? I don't recognize it anymore It use to be so fun and special what is life worth living for? The dream is dead, our land is gone there's hole in my heart and I can't go on There are too many minorities at my water park This was our land, our dream And they've taken it all away They just keep coming and coming I tried to go and tell the police But even the authorities are minroties at my water park There's no place for me to sit anymore and the lines just keep getting crazier There are mexicans all around me The lazy river has never been lazier It's a 40-minute wait to go down one slide And the instructions are in spanish on the zipline ride There are too many minorities at my water park somebody do something Where did they all come from? Why can't they leave this land alone? And it's such a tragedy feel a bit like dying We've looked the other way too long We've got to chance our priorities And get all these minorities out of my water park ...more
